    Hi guys,

Probably posted elsewhere but I have received a notification from o2 regarding GPRS downtime from 10pm-6am from 29/09 middle of november.

Here is a list of dates... these will be updated by o2 but it's good to know!

This is great info - I posted on here a while back that they were upgrading to EDGE, but it's great to know exactly where and when.

Please keep posting if you know more!

its encouraging to know that they're doing it properly and not just upgrading london.etc. at least it looks like it will be bearable untill the phone gets 3g, but o2's 3g coverage is pretty bad

So O2 are promising 30% coverage by launch and this work is only expected to go on until the middle of November.

Am I the only one thinking that this suggests that they may not go far, if at all, beyond 30%?

If so, this is not at all impressive. Pretty unacceptable in fact.

Great info Bentoms, please do keep us up to date. Where the heck are getting this info from out of interest?

Tell me about it - not one of the postcodes listed is within 25 miles of me.

I would hope that this is just the 1st "big push" to get the big cities and other scattered stations upgraded, and that they'll keep going behind the scenes for a while yet. A lot of the stations just require the upgrade to EDGE, but some will first require a chunkier backbone to cope with the increased traffic, which of course will take more time.

May sound selfish, but we've got plenty of coverage in the TS area, so I'm content.

I'm quite lucky in that where I live and go to University they have been updated. But I think its pathetic that only 30% of the UK will be covered and yet another thing O2 has f***** up with.
