Once you get the 'preparing for shipment' status it means it will be shipped within 24 hours. Coming from China with Express Saver. You will get it next Thursday or Friday. 100% no later than that. Good luck.

Based on what's going on in this thread today I would say you have a good shot at getting by the end of next week.

Yes. I had a delivery date of Sept 28 to Oct 2 but have an email from Apple saying it's being delivered in Monday .
Why do some people have expedited shipping and some express? I know some people called in and complained and got their dates bumped a bit but that can't be the explaination, can it? Is there some other factor?

just sign up for ups my choice. it'll give you the option to sign up through your Facebook acct. It's the easiest way...
Mine went to "Preparing for Shipment" more than 24 hours ago - no indications that it has been shipped. Haven't officially been charged, don't see it on the UPS tracking, not listed as "shipped" on Apple...

I am in the same unfortunate boat as a few of you- 64GB AT&T Plus Space Gray and still in processing. No preparing to ship, no charge to my credit card, no phone on the support page, and no UPS tracking info. sometimes it's not good to be in the 1%.
Im in the same exact boat as you, my shipment delivery date was moved up to 9/25, but it still shows Oct. 1-6 on Apple site. You can check your actual shipping delivery date by going to the UPS website, go to Tracking, use Track by Reference and use your phone number as the reference number. Hope that helps.
I dont understand how UPS can have an update before Apple does?? I thought the process was apple would notify and add to support profile then hand it off to UPS for tracking info??? Seems like this is ass backwards from the typical...

+1 I have 3 pages of apple products on my profile (big family) - maybe that counts? I ordered thru Apple using app.
If need be, have the delivery rescheduled to when you'll be home or held at a UPS Access Point or UPS Store at no additional cost. Depending in where you are, yo may be able to schedule a confirmed 2-hour delivery window as well.
