Just out of curiosity, I've been trying to find which flight departs from KY to WA (Airport Code: SEA) that will deliver my iPhone. I couldn't find any UPS plane with that destination. I'm guessing there is no direct flight?

Apparently that flight has gone rogue....lol

If there is enough cargo to make the direct flight profitable, UPS will do it. You'll see that on the fleet map.. there are about a dozen planes that are bypassing Kentucky on various routes... it all comes down to "can we fill the plane going there"... just like why passenger airlines mostly use hubs, but sometimes some routes are popular enough to bypass them. But usually it is only a given that if you bring all the packages to one spot, you'll have a better chance filling the planes going back....

But only the schedulers / the master control program .. know the truth..

Hmmm, so if my phone is on the flight to Ontario, CA, why would it go back to KY just to come back here to Los Angeles?

It would be awesome if you could drive out to Ontario to take a picture of the plane. If you leave right now, you should make it just on time (will have to go above the posted speed limit).

I'm pretty close by in Rancho, but I have to refresh this thread, so . . .

Got the Louisville 12:18AM scan, my date's showing to be 9/23 EOD again.

Will hopefully be able to post a picture of the long-awaited phone here tomorrow night!

Interesting, thanks! :)

Check for KBFI (Boeing Field).

Louisville, KY, United States 09/23/2014 12:18 A.M. Arrival Scan

Like a boss. :D

Delivery estimate changed from an early delivery for today (fail) to tomorrow (Tuesday, 9/23), as originally shown.

I think I found the next flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS782 Leaves Kentucky at 3:14AM eastern and should arrive in San Antonio at around 5:19AM eastern. Should then have plenty of time to get itself onto a UPS truck for a late morning delivery :)

Hey I'm on the 12:18am KY arrival flight too but my delivery date is still Wednesday 9/24! How come a couple other folks have Tuesday? Think it'll bump back up [again] upon Departure?

I never knew that the Boeing runway is also used for commercial traffic. (I just thought they had that for planes coming in for servicing.)

Thanks for the info! Looks like I found my UPS plane, UPS982. Scheduled to depart from KSDF at 3:37AM EDT, and arrives at 4:42AM PDT. I hope my iPhone doesn't miss its connecting flight! It is arriving at 1:22AM EDT on UPS99 so there should be plenty of time.

EDIT: Does this mean it could be delivered tomorrow?

Yeah, it won't always update until it either departs Louisville, arrives at your local center, or even is put out for delivery. Ignore the date. If it shows that it arrives in your local center by 9 am or so you should be good.

Would there be any chance that since I cannot find an outbound UPS flight to Minneapolis\St. Paul MN that my scheduled delivery of tomorrow will not happen? Or is there still a chance?

So, since I live in Illinois, would my phone be driven from Louisville? I noticed that closest airport with a scheduled UPS flight is to O'Hair, but it leaves within 10 minutes of my phone arriving to Louisville.

UPS doesn't always update all of its outbound flights until an hour or so before they take off, so it's hard to say.

Mine departed AK at 3:49pm. I live in Palm Springs, CA. Is it going to KY? If so, which flight? If not, is it going to Ontario?

Thanks

99% of air should always go to Louisville first. A flight that leaves Louisville at 5 am will arrive in CA at 5:30 am because of the time zones, so it will make service. That's part of the reason that Louisville is on the east coast.
