Not so much that they're lacking, and if anything they're more than what I need. But also a bit more than I'm looking to spend. I would like 2 (or more) hard drives, have my own displays (multiple), and would like to swap out video cards, as well as add PCI cards. A $1999 G4 PowerBook is still too much....at this point maybe $1499 for top of the line. Maybe. At this point for $1499 you are simply paying for OS X.

one issue i hope they address with the new powerbooks is the battery issue. i'm pretty dissapointed that my PB only gets 100 minutes at best. it's also been stated in the internet that for the size of the battery and the power requirements of the powerbook for the screen size and processor needs, it's woefully underpowered. the 12 and 17" PBs are excellent on battery life because in the 12", the screen is small, and the 17" has an gigantic battery. butnothing compares to the 14" iBook G4, right, like my gf's
I dont think you have to worry about "little buttons everywhere" from Apple. I could see a "Mighty Button" on the new PB's where one side is a right click (still one piece). This would be configurable back to one button through sys prefs of course.wordmunger said:

Personally I rest my thumb joint on the trackpad button. It's a heck of a lot more comfortable than using any notebook PC and it works better.
