George FOrman Edition

The new G5 tower line already has the heat required to cok meat...but it took this long for Apple Engineering to put the air holes on the top to ensure a decent grill pattern on the meat!

THe Apple Event on the 19th explains how the grease drips away for healthy cooking and they also explain the science behind the greese protection used to ensure smudge free DVDs

So, the big question now is -- when will we see the new George Foreman edition?

You know... I was JUST about to post this was the dumbest of all rumors,
when it hit me.

I think that it might have come from updated SKU numbers at FRY's or other retailers.

But here is what I really think is interesting about the factless rumor:

It means Think Secret is really just pulling crap out of their arse and posting it to "pretend" to be a source.

The just got the CRAP kicked out of them in the rumor business the last two times (Completely MISSING out on the NANO, AND on the iMAC)...

And now... they say the new dual dual mac will top $3K.

Doesn't look like that was accurate, either.

Sad, sad, sad day indeed. Used to always think of them as top dog.

Now they are starting to appear like the village idiot...

I can't wait to see the prices of the dual-core Power Mac G5 lineup. $2999 is a bit too much for me, but you never know. With the .edu discount, I could probably get it for around a couple hundred less. Either way, it'll be worth it.

(and I'll be in debt for life :p)

Thinksecret is not reliable

I'm glad everyone is starting to realize that thinksecret is unreliable. They got sued, are scared to death so now they just use any crap they drag up as a "reliable source."

17 inch is huge, hy would they make a 20"...idont think a 20" would be 2 beneficial to me unless it had soem special feature on it that was only available on that 1 model

The special feature for the 20" model is that it is 3" larger than the 17" powerbook.

BTW, the original poster was being sarcastic, as was I. ;)

You have to be serious!!!!!!

I definitely want the $2999

the details on it are astounding, the $1999 seems okay but the $2999 model has the far better specs

PLEASE HOW IS THIS A RUMOUR?

It's a trick!... It's so obvious that Steve leaked these specs to confuse everyone and raise anticipation. It makes no sense. Something more like $2199 and $2599 seem more likely. And something at $1599 wouldn't suprise me, either. You read it here first...

Well, this event is geared towards pro users so, yeah, we're likely to see pro hardware and pro software upgrades and at least 1 new pro product launch. My guess as to that pro product, Photo Pro - with the ability to take a blurry photo and make it sharp again. That's the breakthrough technology Apple will be releasing.

As for hardware upgrades, dual-core for everything.

lol The grammar and tense agreement is off on it too. "Confirmed on October 19th..." It's not the 19th yet... it's Tuesday the 18th... Is there an english teacher in the house? Someone needs a D in english.

Oh great, dual core iPods, I can hardly wait

lmao... What would be the sense of that?

this doesn't seem espicially helpful, but yea, these are current price points for current powermacs

Off topic, but if you Athlon TB is crashing alot it could be thermally compromised, and the chips are dirt cheap now. You could fix it for fifty bucks if you look around, drop in another chip, use thermal paste, a new fan and heatsink (or even this could be the problem, fans can wear out over time and have reduced performance.)

On topic, I dont know if a powerbook is going to be worth 2 grand until I see the specs. And a tower for 3 grand, better make me wet my pants when it boots.

Why do people think this rumor came from Thinksecret?

The rumor did NOT come from Think Secret.

If you would READ before you POST, you'd see that the issue with Think Secret was that THEY are forcasting the top Powermac at OVER $3000 price points.

this is a page 5 rumor.... on the ¨just think of anything and post it¨ page

It's like SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy when they go into Final Jeopardy: "Just write a number. Any number. It can a one, or a seven, or a three... *any* number will do ..."

I was thinking more on the lines of Pro hardware. Not sure how iPods fit into an event geared for Pro users, but that's a great idea also. :D :D :D

HD 1080P playback to HDTVs from your video iPod!!1!1!!11 :p

It just seems to me that Apple shoehorns iPods into everything these days [shrug]

If they release a PowerMac with two dual-core G5 processors for less than 30,000 HKD (that's about 3,000 USD), I'm buying it. I'm fully expecting that kind of machine to be released!

Today I bought a 20" Apple Display, so I can spread the expenses over my company credit card...

Probably with Pro Prices too. :D
