Because we choose not to live in an imaginary world where they are going to release a new iPhone in October? Darling, that doesn't mean anyone is blowing a fuse.

No but you need to chill out! If people want to believe Apple will be fixing it in October so what, why does it bother you so much??? And for the record I couldn't give a flying **** if they do release a new one or not, I don't have a problem with mine :D

and why do you think that?!? you underestimate the power of a civil tort...Apple is not going to make a new phone until next summer...and certainly will not consider a hardware revision ,quietly or otherwise as this would potentially upset everyone that previously purcahsed the phone...some people are so gullible! you really think some 8 bucks an hour support rep knows ANYTHING about upcoming hardware revisions? reps are the LAST to know anything! why? because there's no incentive for them to keep quiet!

Its not the words of a CSR that leads me to believe they are going to do some sort of revision to the device...it's just my deduction from what they said. They set the 9/30 deadline to the free case program for a reason. Could it be related to the close of the financial quarter? Sure. But (and this is just my opinion) I think they have a belief that they will be able to do something to the device to help alleviate the reception issue. Will it be a noticeable design change? Absolutely not. But I think there will be a coating or something along those lines on the antenna frame that will make the device less prone to immediate signal degradation.

As far as the lawsuit goes....they have already admitted that there is a signal drop issue. They have gone to great lengths and released several videos showing other devices on all platforms having similar issues. They've done this to try and ease the minds of their customers for sure, but there are also legal reasons for documenting these issues so publicly. Now when someone inevitably brings the lawsuit against them for the reception issue they now have precedent that it is an industry wide problem that affects all smart ♠phones and have made themselves much more judgment-proof.

I don't need to chill out. I find the people on this thread hilarious. Fun to read, fun to post.

I don't have a problem with mine, either, doll. So we're all good. :)

Why worry?

If they change something just have your phone replaced. I'll call Apple Care and do an advanced RMA for a new phone, simple as that. They might figure by then a good chunk of people won't care, the media hoopla will die down and they will have a much easier time replacing phones with a newer revision. It will be a post on Engadget and us nerds will flock for new phones but really by then how many people will want to go through the hassle of a return? Considering not that many people at all are having problems or calling Apple care.

With that being said I highly doubt it will happen just because of the publicity and the way Apple is fighting back on other phones.

Sony and Microsoft make revisions to their hardware (smaller CPU die, more power efficient, less noise, same form factor) and no one makes a stink, shouldn't be different for Apple. I mean hell MS started using a different motherboard and CPU in an effort to rid the system of RROD and they didn't replace all systems for people, just as needed when they RROD.

Personally I don't think they will change **** though and at best start putting bumpers in the box.

Sorry "oldie", do you really think you are entitled to an improved version of a product in any way? Products are being constantly improved without former coustomers being entitled to get the improved version for free.

If you don't return your device this means you're happy with it.

So live with it.

It's under warranty. I can return it. People also get AppleCare. They can return it.

In short - you'd have millions of people - once they catch wind of any change that will demand their (rightful) exchanges.

You're doing a poor job at thinking LOGICALLY.

The theme of this thread seems to be "Logic? What's that?" ;)

Warranty? It's well documented what the "problems" are.
If you still buy it and keep it that means you are happy with it and there is no warranty issue for you in this regard whatsoever.

Do you really think warranty means "I wanna have an improved version"?

im no expert.. but i would imagine that if a case could resolve the issues, why not just put a clear powdercoat over the steel band.

that way it maintains the look but has a little bit of insulation at least.

Ok. You've just illustrated your lack of knowledge about the subject. Friendly advice would be to quit while you're already so far behind.

Seriously? Did you read what you wrote before clicking submit reply?

Hahaha. I know. It just gets funnier and funnier.

And yes, King of Wishful Thinking is exactly right.

Nice "logical" answer.

If that's your best retort.

Please do some research on warranties and how they work before posting something so ridiculous. Any snarky behavior you exhibit now is just a defense mechanism based on being shown how silly your last few comments have been.

You are right. Warranty issues are so complicated you can't even discuss them.

You're definitely not retreating from a discussion you're losing.

That's logical.

People on internet forums know everything about anything and have the power to foresee the future. But for some reason, just like psychics, they never have those winning lottery numbers.

No. I'm refusing to continue to engage in a conversation (beyond this post) with someone who has no idea what they are talking about because it's fruitless. There's a big difference.

Enjoy living in your bubble Schweitzer.

I think that's the best plan. It is like going round in circles. They will NEVER get it.

Just playing devils advocate here..some type of clear coat over the antenna wouldn't require the FCC getting involved, would it?

He's also stuck on what he considers a clever reply loop. Funny - especially since you and I haven't always seen eye to eye on things lately yet we agree 100 percent here.

Oh, I get it:

I buy a device, I'm perfectly happy with it, I don't complain or bring it back for a refund, no issues whatsoever.

But as soon there is an improved version introduced we have clearly a warranty issue.

That's logical, isn't it?

Good question. But from what I understand and read from reliable sources - ANYthing that would affect how the radio works would require FCC re-approval.

A clear coat would alter reception/transmission from the radio which needs to be re-approved.
