October 27 Preorder, November 3 Launch Date for iPhone X

After this keynote, I don't even want one. Might get an apple watch and a new battery in my iPhone 6 instead.
They’re going to lose a lot of sales for the X by delaying the release. People are itching to get a new phone, and the X didn’t really steal the show.

Wow. I fully expected a preorder on 9/15 with probably early October deliveries. But can’t preorder until the end of October for a November release? They better have a crap ton available on 11/3. I don’t want to hear about delays into December for preorders.

What I think is I’m not sold on Face ID or the interface. Moving the control center gesture is not something I like.
The notch eating display and even video playback is not cool.
iPhone 8+ honestly seems like the more proven and familiar product. And it’s certainly a better value.
6 weeks behind the 8/8 Plus, huh? I'm not particularly interested in the 8/8 Plus, so I will probably end up waiting. My 6s Plus is chugging along just fine, but I was really hoping the X would be released alongside it's counterparts.
My thing is... I'm in the IUP. So by the time it releases, I'll have made 2 extra payments than the 12. So how does that play into it? Honestly just thinking I'll keep my 7 Plus for another year. I'm not tempted by the 8 at all.

Not sure whether I will cancel my Note 8 honestly. I get it for $570 since I was a Note 7 buyer and it has all the iPhone X features plus a wireless fast charger, fast wired cable in the box and Micro SD card. Not even being able to preorder until 10/27 was a huge letdown honestly. They really should have opened preorders 9/15 and got them out as soon as possible. There better be a huge backlog of these things available on 10/27.

All I have to say, is if we have to wait that long for it, they better have enough stock to supply almost everyone who wants one. Apple has had years to figure out the iPhone launches and failed to produce enough units each and every year.
Looks like I'll have to update the software on my 6s+, and maybe fix the screen glass crack in the meantime. That's definitely going to take away a lot of the anticipation for me, as I was hoping to enjoy both the new software (going from iOS 9.3.3 to 11) and new hardware at the same time.
Just watch, a week or two after the keynote some Apple Engineer figures out how to incorporate TouchID into the display... and it becomes the best kept secret until next year's iPhone release. I have a feeling Tim really tried to stall as long as possible before unveiling iPhone 8's ship date... why else would it be over a month after announcement?
