Hey guys,

Office 2016 for Mac is not working on Sierra. Please guide me regarding any updates or how to make it work. I tried Microsoft AutoUpdate. It downloaded something around 3.6 MB, installed it but Office apps still don't work. Screenshot is attached for reference.

You don't say what version of Office 2016 is installed in your computer, but try manually installing these updates: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3186807
You can manually update Microsoft Autoupdate by using the installer here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3179163
It maybe that once you update the automatic updater that your regular apps will update properly without having to manually download the update packages.

Yeah, he said Office 2016.

I'm in the "uninstall and reinstall" camp. Should fix whatever has gotten corrupted in the app.

No, the current version of Office 2016 is version 15.26. Older versions don't run well, if at all, in Sierra. The OP didn't not specify which version of 2016 he has. There are lots of them.

Im running Office 2016 just fine on my Sierra system. No update available after updating to Sierra, but it was fully updated before updating to Sierra.

Have you tried creating a guest account and trying if Office works there? Sometimes its just some weird thing with the current users library.

I had the same problem after installing sierra that my microsoft office apps werent working. I updated microsoft office and everything works :). I went from 15.11 to 15.26

It works for me but I only installed it after upgrading to Sierra. I must say, though, it is pretty awful and laggy when typing in Word.

What's wrong with Microsoft and Apple? Didn't this get picked up during the alpha and beta testing periods????? Office is a huge product for MacOS. This incompatibility should have never happened.

If you have the latest version installed it works fine. I'm using the Insider Builds and it works fine.

Apple used to block outdated versions of apps that were going to blow up like this. Seems like they've given up on a lot of things that used to help customers.

It seems you are the only one with Office problems.

The poll seems.... unnecessary.
