You’re a slight bit literal it seems. T’was just a joke, based on the history of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery, including the FAA banning them from flights.
Now that, i can understand. Never cracked open a phone to do any work onit, but at $12, that seems more reasonable than $79, $29, or anything else thats being offered. The external battery case we ordered from mophie just came, brand new, for around $7, so we'll see how that goes. So far, so good...
Well, by way of explanation, I didn’t actually need to know an anonymous stranger’s seat assignment on a random future hypothetical flight. But as you said, all good.

For me, it’d completely be worth the extra $17 to have an official Apple replacement done by people whose job it is to know how to do it, rather than me trying to pry apart my iPhone, figure out how to swap the battery without screwing something up, having it end up looking and functioning exactly as it did before, and with warrantied work. But we all have our own calculus.
Went to go get my battery replaced at the Apple store on Thursday after they called me that my battery had come in. Waited two hours after handing over my phone. When the tech came up to me with my phone, she said sthe adhesive pads holding the battery in snapped while she was doing the replacement and didn't think she could get the battery out safely. So they gave me a new iPhone 6S plus to replace my old one. Still only charged me the $30 + tax for the battery replacement.
I'd like to see that kind of service at any non-Apple location.
