I love the new Office. It is 2489237x better than 2008 was. haha.

I currently have Office 14.0.0 Is this going to be the same exact thing as the retail one coming out soon? I am planning on buying it the week it comes out.

I'm sorry but I didn't read the last 200 posts. All I want to know is if Office for Mac finally looks and feels like Office 2007 for Windows. I embarrassed myself at my last internship when I couldn't find some easy commands in Office 2007 for Windows...:apple:

Further, can I get a cheap upgrade for my student edition?

THX!

I'm not sure how you embarrassed yourself due to lack of commands - even in IT people forget certain commands. I'm curious if you forgot commands such as launching outlook cleanviews or reminders etc or just keyboard short cuts? If the latter don't feel any way about it just as long as you know where to go to perform the functions directly. I doubt the shortcuts or the commands are interplatform usable.

Can someone let me know where can I download a beta version? Thanks a lot!

Microsoft might release a trial in a few weeks once it hit’s retailers - that’s the most that is gong to happen at this point since it is pretty much at GM status right now.

Onenote and Powerpoint

I have a Mac with Powerpoint (the mac version) and I also have windows (with Parallels) downloaded on my computer. I just downloaded OneNote to be able to better navigate powerpoint presentations for school. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get my powerpoints into Onenote. The drop down menu to 'Send To' does not contain Onenote and when I try to print it over into Onenote there is no option for Onenote as a destination.

Any Ideas??

Thanks All

Has anyone using Office 2011 noticed that lines of text sometimes disappear at the bottom of the page instead of appearing on the next one? It only seems to affect print view - the text is still there and shows up if you print or use another view and subsequent lines show up okay.

Just got the Office and it is 14.0.0 (1008250) and mine is not beta for sure and I think it is same as retail.

There are too many features missing in Outlook 2011 compared to Entourage. There's no way we can upgrade our 250 users to Office 2011 due to features lacking.

edit: If the features don't appear within the next 6 months we'll have to seriously consider changing to Apple Mail/iCal/Address Book.

I just got Office 2008 to use for school and it comes with a free upgrade to 2011. I have not got a chance really check it out but I have heard good and bad. At least they are giving a free upgrade.

Wait... How do I have it already?

Well, those are what I use already, and Office 2011 integrates with them fine as long as they are set as the default programs for their acquired task.

You missed his point.

Office 2011 is a blatant attempt to get businesses to upgrade Exchange prematurely (and it IS premature, because Exchange is not EOL yet). Not supporting 2003 Exchange is inexcusable, not to mention all of the other glaring oversights with 2011.

He's saying that Microsoft needs to get back smart with the support for certain still-supported technologies that Entourage supported just fine or he will have to revert to the free alternatives that OS X offers.

Anyone know how to sync the 2011 Mac Outlook calendar to Mobileme calendar?

You can't. One of my "must have" missing features. There's no way to sync the calendar to an iPhone.

You also can't redirect emails or resend emails, two things that I need to do all the time. Also can't drag a folder out of Outlook to the Desktop ( to create a file on the desktop for backup or to give the folder to somebody else), also can't search our work directory to find "all staff" like I can do in Entourage, Projects feature is gone. I could go on.

Outlook 2011 is a step backwards. I wouldn't recommend the upgrade from Entourage.

graham, would you be so kind as to provide a single list of all that you've discovered is missing with 2011 Outlook that Entourage did without an issue? For me the lack of 2003 support is dealbreaker enough, but I would be interested in seeing what else there is.

^^ Sorry, I don't have time to provide a list but if you look around Outlook you'll find features lacking.
edit: ...and I already listed quite a few missing features. We don't use Exchange so Exchange integration isn't a big deal.

Here's another missing feature, unless I'm mistaken, there is no way to see full internet email headers and page source.

Dude. Just right click on a message and choose "View source" from the menu.
