$79 is really not that bad. Take at least $30 off for the included Mag Cable... so it's $49.

I'm tired of being overcharged for Apple accessories. I just wait for comparable 3rd party options now. Someone should tell Apple that highly rated watch bands are being sold on Amazon for 1/5 the price of the official ones. I also got a great Apple Watch charging stand for $8.

No way I'm paying $79 for this garbage.

Cool story. Don't buy it. Simple. No-one is forcing you.

idiotic. i bought one for $14 on amazon, its smaller, cleaner and frankly nicer.

The packaging for the dock lists a price of €89, which likely means it will be priced at $79 in the United States.

I'm really surprised when I read something like this, and it's becoming more usual in recent times.

If

$100 equal to €91 aprox

How can it be justified or written, without the writer being surprised when doing so,that something that has a price of €89 has to be cheaper in US dollars??

Before 2015, Apple products prices were always higher in dollars than in euros, because $1 was and today still is, less that €1. But this year all changed and it's not justified by currency exchange rates, because $1 still equals to less than €1. Was €0,80 and now is €0,91 but in no ways is more that €1 as Apple is pretending.

For example a MacBook Air that had a US price of $999, and was listed in Spain €899, now is listed €1099. Listing it at €999 would be in unfair because $999 are still €900, but listing it at €1099 is totally UNFAIR. €1099 are $1170....which compared to the US listed price of $999.... Come on Apple!!

Apple TV 64GB.... $199 in the US and €229 in Europe. Come on! Should be €190!!!! €40 lower or 17% lower!!

I don't like that the metal rim of the puck is exposed. The best thing about the Spigen is that it's rubber around the edges, so in the dark I don't even have to think for even a second about how I dump my Watch on it (and sometime it really is a dump). There's literally no way to damage the Watch.

With the Apple design... I'm just not convinced by that exposed edge in Night Stand mode...

THAT said, there's no question which is classier...

You shouldn't be. Apple just shipped the iPad pro without the Pencil and keyboard.
Technically, they are available, but shipping in 4-5 weeks. The Watch came out several months ago. Anyway, I'd have thought this would be out in time for the holiday shopping season, which has basically started already.

Does the Spanish price include VAT? If so, then if you back out the 21% VAT, it's actually cheaper in Spain (about $965) than the US ($999).

Agreed but you have to remember US prices are quoted tax-free. European prices include tax. And our taxes are higher.

From a sales standpoint, you make your money on the add ons: the extra watch band, the stand, the apple care, the extra charging cable for on the go or at work, the bluetooth speaker, etc. I obviously don't have the business acumen of Apple, but how do you not release SOME sort of dock along with the watch? I understand not including it, but to not have one at all until 6-7 months after initial release of the watch is just a head scratcher.

People like you piss me off.

You go spend a fortune on their overpriced garbage. I'll spend mine on better things.

I take it back. They should charge $299 for this dock and people like you would still throw your money at Apple just for that little fruit logo.

I just became a marketing genius.

$79 for that? Pretty sure this is Angela's idea, haha. Apple has a lot of room to grow in accessories, and they're smart to do so, but this is a bit much for something so basic. It's even more ridiculous when you compare it to something like the Apple TV 3 which is $10 less. How complicated could this be? Even the look of it is fairly average. Hopefully it at least comes in black. I'm just going to stick with my ElevationLab NightStand. At $29, it looks nice and I can mount it vertically on my bedpost due to the micro-suction base.

It is strange that this did not go out with the original release in June (when we actually received the watches - yes I have not let that go and am still angry about it). I wonder if this is an afterthought or what reason they would have for waiting on releasing the dock.
I think they wanted to see if this puppy would be successful. In retrospect Apple was super cautious about the apple watch launch. They kept things close so that if it did bomb they could control the story. That the dock has appeared seems to confirm the watch at least met expectations.

To everyone complaining about the price. Are you considering the fact that this dock has built in charging? It's great that you have all your stands, but when you have to bring your own $40 charger, it's not that much cheaper.

It'd be great if it docked both the Watch and the iPhone.
It will eventually! I'm guessing iPhone 8S when wireless charging adopted by Apple. Buy now and save yourself in the future from waiting and getting frustrated, just like the Pencil.
