Since my last post years ago, I now have a two actual jobs.

I'm a Computer Tech for my City (the second largest in New England). 16 hours a week. Welcome to the sucky world of Windows and boring beige towers. $12.50 an hour ain't bad. I'm only 18, still in high school.

I also work two days a week at a Liquor Store. $9/hour there, but it's far more mindless than anything tech related, and somewhat relaxing.

Add to that various photography and art related jobs... I do pretty well for myself.

Full-time student finishing my MPH in Epidemiology. For my graduate assistantship, I work as a database manager for a clinical trial, as well as the overseer of a little research project of my own on the side.

I work with M$ Access all day, on an XP machine, and it reminds me each and every single microsecond why I own six Macs and will never use Windows again if I can help it.

Next year I will be going to medical school, haven't decided whether or not to do the MD/PhD or the DO/PhD, although I need to be choosing sooner or later.

Future career goals: work as a cardiac electrophysiologist for a few decades and then teach medical students/residents at a Big 10 research institution.

I think I've posted in here before about my Craigslist dealings. In the past month or two, some people who buy my stuff have started to ask me to repair their computers for them. It's really fun!

I don't usually charge them though.

Where Do You Work?

I'll start, to be fair: I have two part-time jobs, one is a Disc Jockey at the small-town radio station ten miles away; the other is as a developer for a web design house about a half-hour away.

EDIT: My bad. I did a search but didn't turn it up... sry.

Dogsbody.... :p

I work for a medium-sized charity, and charities being what they are (i.e. short on funds), my job description covers a pretty wide range:

I.T. Manager/Systems Admin (mixed Windows/Mac plus an Avaya IP telephony setup)
Graphic Design
Web Site design/admin
Editor of our house magazine (bi-monthly - circulation around 16,000 - I artwork it too, of course ;) )
I'm also gradually becoming more involved in marketing...

I've done most of the above elsewhere before (magazine editor being the exception), but never all at the same time.... They keep me busy....

I'm a student here at a german university in the environmental field of study. One and a half semester to go and already in search of a nice master program...

Purchase and then manage apartment complex's. Currently sold all of my units with the exception of a few units in Texas.

Invested all the funds in a TIC and now I am using that money to subside my income from my current job. Project mananger and information gather for a rather large company.

Software Configuration Release Manager

what a mouthful! it means I manage building distributable packages, configuration changes, server planning, installing new web-apps (and java apps) all for an e-gaming company here in Gibraltar.

I mostly use Solaris 10 and I love it - getting down with my custom build scripts and managing multiple environments (test, staging, dev etc) - its a wicked job. Shame they pay me peanuts (less than half the going standard rate for my job)

its lots to do and as I am responsible for our live server deployments; quite scarey somedays :)

I am the director of international sourcing at a small distributor. I focus on basic medical supplies (bandages, tapes, etc) as well as physio therapy and fitness supplies and equipment. I spend about 1 month out of the year out of the country.

Pretty cool stuff. I have seen a lot of places and done a lot of things that I wouldn't have without this job. Plus the airline miles pay for a good trip for me and the wife every couple of years! (This year is Italy and Austria in Sept.)

At the moment I'm just working on my game, in my own free time like. It's not so great financially. Thinking about selling the first half of the OST (fills a CD), including a little art booklet just to tide me over. Been working on this game for 18 months now and I'm not even half done, such is the way for the one man team.

Used to do graphics for a small company in the US but they're having their website redesigned and have a new product coming out soon so they can't really afford me

Looking for a proper job now.

A college student, taking a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Major in Advertising Design. :p School starts next week and I will officially be in my 3rd year in college! :) I might start doing freelance work soon. Depends on my schedule...;)

Senior Software Engineer/Programmer Analyst. Currently contracting/consulting with my 2nd client since I left my last "permanent" position. Smalltalk/Java/ClearCase and anything people ask me to figure out for them. :D
