Not in the work-force yet, still in school. I sometimes get to visit MR at school in IT, but only briefly.

I'm a University lecturer, I do get to surf in the office, but this semester I've got a very high lecture load so I don't have as much time as I'm used to.

MR plays havoc with my schedule some days, I can spend an hour just trawling the new stuff as a mod, let alone answering questions or participating.

Full time student. Hopefully get a job at the Apple Store Regents Street next year. I went in there the other day and got told i can. yey!!!!!

Former programmer...
Auuughh! What a terrifying concept!

I love being a programmer and hope I never get promoted out of my position. Pay raises are fine, however. :)

I am self-employed and help utility (gas/electricity) companies getting their data from the old billing system(s) into their new SAP IS-U billing system.

At the moment (and for the last 4 years) I work with the biggest British utility company. They have millions of customers and Terabytes of data to migrate.

The database server is a HP superdome and was/is(?) still in the TOP500.org list, although it is already 4-5 years old. For database work this is a great machine... I get worried, if a select takes a millisecond from a table with 100 million entries in it.

Im in the USAF, and no I don't surf on the clock. I don't have any time to, it's pretty much work work work then go home for me. Now if I had a nice coooooshy office job in the AF, I would :)

Infosec architect. I might check MR news from work, but I hardly check the forums from there.

My brain is apparently so opposed to the idea of leaving the field that, when I read the post, I stopped at the second word, went back, and tried to remember ever hearing of a language called "Former".

Really.

Area Sales Manager for a large Electrical and Datacom distributor...

And yes... MR on the clock... :D

Although they just turned our surf control back on the other day:mad:

Always trying to make things difficult...

Military base in Germany doing random computer stuff. But I got a new job on the same base where I get to write programs for Macs. Yay!

I just joined the forums officially this morning. Aside from being a freshman in college with no real direction asof yet, I work in the IS dept of a sausage company catering to the southern US.

The spring semester of school just finished and I'll be working the part time job 8-5 until I go back to school in July.

I'm a full time Music student, soon to be at City Univeristy in London, and Guildhall School of Music.

My part time job is as a sales assistant at Molton Brown, which sell extremely expensice cosmetics and skin care. Tis brilliant fun. :D Great perks too, huge staff discount and tons of free stuff too.
