I just graduated college where I worked in campus tech support and was a photographer for the campus newspaper. I currently work part-time as a graphic designer for my dad's screen printing business, and work full-time as a writer for the website www.dealnews.com . (also the sister site www.dealmac.com since we're a Mac forum :) ).

I've been doing the writing job part-time since September and the day after graduation they called me up and asked me to be fulltime, which is really cool.
Doing it part-time financed my first Mac, which is a 15" MacBook Pro. I'm looking forward to getting a Mac Pro when they come out!

My main gig is areospace electronics. I also build custom tube amplifiers for guitar and HiFi. I am also the electronics repair guy at a music store in Wichita. The areospace job is for the money, the amps are my own company and the repairs I mostly end up trading for guitar and pedals and stuff:)

I am currently the Communications Specialist (read: full-time writer) for iKarma Inc.

Within the year I will be an English teacher in Japan, which is nice. Soon after that I will probably be going back to school for a masters. For now, writing pays the bills.

There's a Barnes & Noble opening later this year in my area. Does anyone know how much they pay and whats the age limit? because im 15.

District technology coordinator for a 2A school here in Iowa. Love my job... get to work on computers and play with new equipment. Just unloaded 25 of the new "education" iMacs last Friday. Look forward to unboxing those this week and setting them up. Plus, I have an endless supply of the little white Apple stickers that come in the boxes! I could wallpaper a room of my house with the things...

I currently have 3 jobs (really crazy but I love it) and am looking to start my own business.
My main thing is working as a freelancer in media (I'm being intentionally vague), I also work as a waitress/bartender for two different companies.
I'm a uni student also, but I expect my experience to get me places, rather than my degree.

City of Pittsburgh Firefighter until December 29th, 2005. (over 21yrs)

January 2006 ... Retired City of Pittsburgh Firefighter @ age 53.
I bought my first Mac this month and couldn't be happier...!

Over 20yrs. of stress ..... hmmmmmmmm .... I guess I'll chill out and relax for the next 20!!

2 Switch the church to Mac:D
I wonder if Apple's education discounts apply to the College of Cardinals? :)

I'm finally able to post here, even though I'm 43 years old.

I've just been offered a teaching position at our local high school. I'll be teaching 10th and 11th grade English. I've always wanted to teach. So in the summer of 2005 I entered the Masters of Arts in Teaching program at MUW. Now certified, I'm teaching! I'm scared to death! Well, not really, it's going to be fun. :D :D

EDIT: yes I will be incorporating technology in the classroom!

Damn, I haven't posted here yet? What was I thinkin'...?

Anyway.

I'm kind of between jobs. No, I'm not jobless -- I'm literally transitioning between two jobs.

Old job: video producer for a local cable TV office. We cover local government meetings, do shows about our community, etc. Advantage here: I work with a great group of people.

New job: very shortly I start at a sort of a service bureau for lawyers. I'll be videotaping depositions, editing them into presentations for court, doing "day in the life" videos, etc. Advantage there: better money, and they've already hinted I was hired to be groomed for a management track.

On the side, I do one of those online t-shirt stores.

Edit: I quit the new job four days into it and am going back to my old one. The new job was a mickey-mouse position, and didn't even live up to my already limited expectations of it. Management track my ass. I don't care that the money was better. I'm getting too old to take jobs that are essentially career dead-ends.

So, short answer: I work as a producer for a cable TV office. :D

Help a newbie out. Does that mean your apps are all dependant on Office to run?

Whatever you do, don't let them smell fear! :)

I always wanted to be a teacher, but I somehow ended up as a programmer. However, I'm very happy with my profession, so I don't mind.

And even recalcitrant programs are easier to tame than 10th and 11th graders!

I have a great support structure, so it should all be cool. We're (new teachers) are undergoing two days of classroom management training. e.g. how to have class with no discipline problems. It's good stuff so far. 10-11 graders are easier than Jr High, though!
