Has anyone tried using their SIM in a MMS compatible phone? I was trying to send a MMS to a friend (from my non camera work phone) and it kept giving me an error. I am thinking that AT&T has to actually enable MMS service on our accounts. Which is odd cause I thought they charged MMS as a SMS.

I wouldn't put it past them.

They need to fix the who name display when u get a text
Message. I was on a conference call with other
People looking at my phone when a former
Employee txt me. They were shocked I stilled talked to her.
iPhone needs to go back to just saying " New Text Message"

Ye old iPhone MMS debacle

Why can't the iPhone send and receive MMS messages? Wow. Why are we having this conversation? The most innovative bit of technology to come along in years that is a phone and computer in one cannot receive MMS messages? I have had mine for a few months now and that was one of the first things I noticed.

Yes, you can email your photos but one of the points to putting a camera on a cellular phone is that you can send pics and video via multimedia message to someone, who hopefully has the capability and phone plan, very quickly regardless of whether they are in front of a computer or not.

One way this feature comes in handy (merely for example): I saw a piece of furniture my girlfriend and I were looking for but I wasn't sure if she would care for it or not so what did I do being that this was a spur of the moment thing? I "texted" her a pic of it. She got it minutes later. She hated it. But that's beside the point...

The apps that you can get fall short of what is expected with this arguably useful detail. Swirly is limited in some ways. But wouldn't a software update that fixes this issue be the seal on the deal? If apps become available that allow the phone to do this with as much ease as its counterpart, they should be free. Most cell phones come with the ability to receive and send MMS so one would think that the most innovative smartphone on the market could do this. Should it really be a question I need to ask before getting the phone? I think not.

Otherwise, this phone "rawks"...

Why can't it be part of the iPhone? I don't want it as an App. That sounds like a hack job. I hope I can record video on my iPhone someday without jailbreaking it.

I totally agree. I want it all built in. Its also pretty embarrassing that various individuals have made some pretty good video recording apps, and Apple hasn't.

God knows they'll release something and end up charging us for it...

I can't wait for this - MMS messaging is so big in the UK and it is frustrating not to be able to use it. No one else has easy email on their phone, so emailing photos is no good.

On the other hand - a lot of people haven't received pointless, unfunny MMS messages since we all got iPhones.

MacMad

Waiting to buy a 15" MacBook Pro - Will they bring out a matte screen version. How long to wait/gamble for?
