its about time, apple is pissin me off

Aww... tell us how you really feel...

Honestly, I'd rather prefer stability and a non-crashing phone over hastily coded features.. And to be honest, the more people cry/whinge/moan over 'why XXX feature isn't here yet' makes me glad that it isn't yet, because I'd rather have a working piece of hardware to enjoy...

But then again, I can't wait for them to release it, just so the wingers can shut up.. but then again, when it does come out, people will be complaining anyways, because it they don't like how it came out..

Vicious cycle...

There are 7 iphones in our little group. not one of use have crashes. all are jailbroken. since we can't whine about crashing phones/apps we need something like MMS to whine about.

The iPhone doesn't always work perfectly though, so since it's still just a phone and it doesn't have features other phone have, people are justified in complaining about missing features on a $200-$600 phone.

But I do agree about people complaining about something else once the iPhone does get MMS.

And it's whiners, not wingers, unless you did mean wingers and I would have to ask what is a winger?

Simple. You jailbroke, so now you're on your own. You don't think the rest of the non-jailbroken phones have MMS? They're all in the same boat as you, so whining about it is irrelevant. It isn't going to get you what you want.

And with it being jailbroken, Apple isn't going to care about you, as they are releasing their updates for phoens that haven't been jailbroken. So you want them to introduce a new feature to vanilla phones because you don't have it on your jailbroken phone?

Illogical and idiotic.

If we're paying $200 - $600 on a phone and the phone doesn't work, you complain about what doesn't work and get that fixed, not add something new to it and expect it to work flawlessly while the rest of the phone goes to the s***s. Now you've added more onto the problem.

As a developer, you make what you already have out there STABLE, then introduce new features to it.

And here I thought apple cared about pleaing the jailbreakers, darn:eek:

Hehehe, once MMS is implemented, they'll just find something else to whine about, maybe copy and paste? :p

Lessee.. Netshare, Copy/Paste, MMS, not available on xxx provider, Flash, Emoji..

I'm surprised nobody has complained that it doesn't figure out the winning numbers for tomorrow's lottery.

I dont know about the rest of you but I want a dual core iphone with more ram and faster app loading time... sometimes I hit the wrong app and I have to sit there and wait for the wrong app to load before i can go back to the home screen...rather annoying

I think its BS. This is a function that should have been built in the first OS version. It's all about making money these days. Isn't it enough that we pay for unlimited internet? Why should the "privilege" of sending pictures come at a premium? Besides, MMS is crippled without the ability to send video. Video that you can RECORD from your phone in the first place. Until the iphone gets that MMS will be a joke. An expensive joke.

It seems like this pain-in-the-ass method of checking MMS messages could've been made a lot easier, even without built-in support. For instance - Instead of having to get the username and password from the message, write it down, then go to the site and log in, you should have a link sent to you(akin to getting free starbucks wifi on your iphone). When you touch the link, it opens up safari and displays your message without having to go thru all the BS... Just a thought.

I would love to know the real story as to why Apple doesn't do this...

Nuggets!

MMS - great for most users. I absolutely hate the email only function. I get pictures from friends and family all the time. Usually simple things like, "I got a new puppy", or "look at this funny sign". Typically I am texting my friends and they send a pic and want to ask what I think. I don't want to go to blahblahmessages.com and check it. I don't want to enter some freaky userid and password. I want to see it, right then. Yes, emailing is better. Yes, friends and family can be taught to email pics. But they won't and they don't! Rate plans aren't going to skyrocket. The world isn't going to come to an end.

I don't agree that emailing is "better". Email isn't a "push notification" for everyone. I don't use the "Mobile Me" for my email, so I don't get it automatically. I have to be in the email application to see the email show up. With an MMS message I would see it instantly.

It's a huge downer to not be able to go into the "Instant Message" application and click a button take a photo and send to someone direct. I used to do that on my old motorola phone, and basically every phone I've had since the year 2000.

Not having MMS isn't doing anyone a favor.

Also, why the heck can't I go into the iTunes store and buy/download music over the 3G network? This doesn't make any sense. So I can download a FREE 10MB podcast, but I can't download a purchased 5MB song. Doesn't make sense......

Emailing is better* - simply a statement made because someone always says that. For me emailing is not better. Here is a perfect example.

I am a huge University of Utah fan. I graduated with my B.S., my wife with her B.A. & Doctorate of Law from the University of Utah. My two best friends (friends since we were too young to remember) went to BYU. The BYU and Utah game was recently listed as #9 Rivalry games of all time on rivals.com. Thus, as you can probably guess, Utah fans hate BYU, and BYU fan equally hate Utah. Needless to say its a big football game for my friends and me.

The week leading up to the game (last night) was full of trash talk, web posts, website tricks, (posting Utah pics on my buddies website) "The Shunning", and this year my BYU fan buddies refused to shave until after BYU beat Utah. I therefore decided to grow a beard to counter one of their beards just in case it gave BYU some good mojo.

During the first half of the game was quite close. Utah gained an early advantage but BYU quickly scored 14 points to tie the game. The 2nd half Utah slowly took control and a 17 pt lead. Due to the shunning, I hadn't seen my buddies in a couple weeks. The trash talk had continued during the game via text messaging. During the 4th quarter, with the game out of reach for BYU, I wanted to send a picture of my beard to my buddies as if to imply my beard had more power than theirs. Oh wait, I can't...

Sending to their emails? Loses the intent. The picture needed to be seen instantly for maximum mocking affect.

This is why I want MMS so bad. Its the picture of perfect waves being sent to your working buddy. Its the picture of a menu sent to a friend to let they know you are having an excellent meal and they are not. Its assigning the ugly freak to your friends team (they must accept all, they don't have a choice) via mms. Example: Tranny with a beard spotted on the street, you quickly take a picture (without letting the tranny know of course) and send it to your friend with the subject line, "Your Team".

End rant.

Finally, I have really missed having this feature. Not all of my friends have phones with email, So this feature is key for me.

If anything your post is illogical and idiotic. You say "Apple isn't going to care about you, as they are releasing their updates for phoens that haven't been jailbroken" like Apple released separate unsupported jailbroken model and hasnt updated it since release. Apple releases updates for iPhones...period. What you do with yours is your business. We are not on our own sir, all we have to do is a simple restore, or if we havent hacked it a lot, just hide the 3rd party apps and disable our sexy theme in winterboard for our trip to the Apple Store and they will be glad to help us with whatever problem we have. And when were done we just re-enable the theme and un-hide the apps. Voila! Apple wont know the difference. Ignorance is bliss tho, so enjoy your stock iPhone. Im going to record a video, send it in an MMS to my friend, text a few people in landscape, and customize a few icons here and there all on my iPhone :)

I'm so sick of the EMAIL IS FINE crap. Sorry all my friends aren't rich, nerdy, or iphone owners with email on there phone. God dang. OBV if email was fine and aallllll we WOULDN'T be asking for MMS!

Because MMS is pretty expensive on most carriers. Extraordenary expensive!
So noo need for that. But copy/paste is something really basic and apple is unable to do it. Can´t understand it.

you need more imagination. those 2 would be a good start.. features that have existed in other phones for years now.

not bashing the iphone, it is well advanced in other respects, but it's missing a ton of basic features

MMS and copy paste are the ONLY 2 things missing ....bring it on

Everything is an app...

Why can't it be part of the iPhone? I don't want it as an App. That sounds like a hack job. I hope I can record video on my iPhone someday without jailbreaking it.

Everything on the iphone is an app. Including the phone aspect of it.

Only difference is that some are Apple provided apps, and some are 3rd party provided apps.

Once Apple gets the Push stuff going for 3rd party developers (it was supposed to be out in September, Apple!!!) then there should literally be no difference between the 2.

When you copy something, it's stored somewhere, to be pasted later. What happens if this transient zone is somewhere to store malware or a trojan or a virus...??
