Coming from a 2011 MBP, the new keyboard is taking some getting used to. I like the feel of it, just not all the typing mistakes I am making right now.
I know the keyboard discussion is many posts ago, BUT... I honestly can't tell much of a difference between this keyboard and the prior. They are definitely different, but not a strong preference either way. I'm a decent typist 80ish wpm, and laptop keyboards are so similar. We are splitting hairs I think. I LIKE how solid the keys feel, but I DON'T like laptop keyboards in general. But really I don't care because my heavy, heavy typing is done on my desktop. I probably lost 5 wpm on a laptop keyboard just because it's not as preferred as a desktop one. I'm not suddenly incapable of typing or feeling good about myself, nor will I lose millions of dollars in productivity. Apple was able to make a laptop keyboard that takes up less room, yet feels the same to many of us. Maybe I lack sensitivity in my fingertips? Is it weird that when I touch fire that I don't feel it? It's a keyboard. I miss IBM clickers just for tactile feel, but these definitely take less effort. Who are you guys that have strong opinions on this? I am not suddenly paralyzed and unable to be productive on this keyboard. It's a keyboard that they have done crazy amount of R&D to make millimeters smaller. And we paid for that R&D. This deserves some discussion, but it's a little overblown, no?

Yeah, that keyboard is just AWESOME! And the battery life is FANTASTIC! Plus just look how THIN it is! But hey, it's more expensive than anything else, you will KILL the Starbucks crowd!

Now you just need to find some USB-C accessories for lots of $$$, and you are all set!
Whats wrong with people like you? The guy is happy with his purchase. And you feel the need to mock him for it?

Exactly. I've got a 2013 MBA and it'll be a big upgrade. Strictly speaking, it's not necessary. But everyone has to decide for themselves. I found out that getting new hardware every now and then somehow keeps me enthusiastic for the platform. I get back on the forum, I write more on my weblog, I get interested in reading about it, etc.

Sure it's mainly used for work but staying happy at work is worth something for me.

1000% behind you. Same 2013 MBA upgrade, same happiness factor.

Paid my dues by not purchasing the retina MacBook because that would hurt my productivity although it's a great laptop for most of its buyers.

Or you can just buy $5 adaptors on google that are the side of a really small USB, and stop whining. I spent $20 on 4, put each at the end of my USB cables and that's it. I just keep them there.

lol, battery life is Meh,but overall, yes, it's an amazing machine for me too. I do want more battery life, but I have an external battery pack that I use.. the portability somewhat makes up for it for me, because I like to be able to work it wherever I am , car, house, couch, bed, plane, etc. It's amazeballs.

What kind of external battery pack do you have? I'm trying to shop online for Mbp accessories while there's a sale :D

Can you just plug the new mbp to any portable batteries with usb-c? Is it worth getting an extra 61w power adaptor and charging cable from apple?

It does make you wonder, doesn't it?

Also, what twists someone's mind to the point they think Starbucks is the country club of the world elite? They must have gotten laughed at in a Starbucks one time and now they'll never forget it.

Some people aren't happy when other people are happy. They are angry and miserable so they must find ways to spread it around.

Love the analogy - so your 70" TV only has HDMI, right? Oh wait....

Idea of putting nothing but future ports on a top of the line laptop that is replacing for most people laptops without any of those ports is simply idiotic. It's called a transition period. We need both. USB-C has no market presence right now.

Battery life is nowhere near 10 hours. First laptop from Apple where advertised life does not match real life.

Actually, my brand new TV has an optical audio out port, and 4 HDMI ports. There is a "legacy" headphone jack style connector so you can connect stuff via RCA/scart, but if you want to do that you need to buy one of these: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/YBQAAOSw8d9UuAEy/s-l300.jpg - an adapter.

But hey, this is apple, so everything they do must be bad. I guess by the same logic the iPhone 5 should have included a 30-pin connector too? Think of all the legacy accessories!
