Camera Roll was out of place to begin with. It's about time it has disappeared.

This is nonsense, it's like Facebook making the separate app for chatting when you could do that in the main Facebook app, now you have to switch between two apps all the time, stupid.

And dcorban, really? pictures taken with the camera being out of place with the camera that took them? What amazing logic.

Yeah dcorban, really? Where should our pictures go? The music app? Begone peasant. You are not worthy to be here.

I agree 10000000% with OP.

why the **** would they touch something that wasn't broken?

I don't care to see the stupid photos through dates and locations, I want it under camera roll, simple and easy.

It is amazing that so many people don't seem to understand why people may want to look through all of their photos in an easy to navigate, chronological order. How did no one there think this was dumb?

----------

You do realize the photos you see now ARE in chronological order right ?

They are sorted by date. That is the definition of chronological.

Was absolutely ABSURD for them to remove it. Going to cause SO much confusion for the average user. Don't fix it if it's not freaking broken.

People who like the Photos view could still have it. There's no reason to take away the Camera Roll, and I for one am angry about it.

:apple:

photostream was why I ordered the 16gb 6 instead of the 64 smh. Having all those photos displayed on the phone without taking up any flash drive storage.

The photostream photos that were/are on your phone were/are using storage space. Photostream seeds the photos to other devices.

I did not notice that bc I usually keep more photos in photo stream, which is now gone, so there's a huge gap in time.

This is now less annoying, but still wish they'd have kept a perfectly fine feature.

Let me rephrase since I forgot to account for the IQ drop that accompanies the "Apple always gets it right" crowd who has responded....

All my photos are there. Segmented and separated to hell and back... I want one place I can scroll through all of them. In other words, what the camera roll did.

The answer is simple, what I want doesn't exist in iOS 8

I long for the Forestall days where features weren't removed from iOS.

It seems like each iOS release, there's the low IQ crowd that scream who moved my cheese?

You're upset because you don't have an album for all your photos? Seems silly to me. When I want to look at the photos I have, I go to the photos section and find them all there. Apple even does me the favor of segmenting by date. But to each his own. It's not like you can do anything about it so suck it up.

same here! Photo Stream is the most important feature for those of us that didn't want to buy the largest capacity iPhone.....what are we supposed to do now?! ::Waaaaaahhhhhhh::

No, it really wasn't. The camera roll served the function of showing what files were actually on the phone as opposed to being in the cloud. That's important information to know.

The idea is once iCloud Photo Library is ready, all of the photos will be on the cloud so it won't even matter.

The idea is once iCloud Photo Library is ready, all of the photos will be on the cloud so it won't even matter.

It DOES matter. iCloud Photo Library changes nothing. The number of files actually on the device is of critical importance for a number of reasons. First and foremost due to storage concerns. Second, and much more critically for a photographer like me, is the FACT that the device is NOT always connected to the network, so if I need to show a client images and I'm not able to connect... what then? If the photos are in the cloud I'm hosed and as it stands right now I have no way of knowing whether the file is local or not without hitting the "edit" button.

So the "idea" is bogus and needs to be fixed.

With devices now 64 and 128 gig....what's the point of having the Cloud? I'd rather just keep my stuff on my device than pay Apple for extra Cloud space.

This is only a big problem because apps won't let you choose from your full collection of photos. Also the recently deleted permanent folder is a okay idea executed annoyingly.

This is the 20th time im posting this . At this moment no one who understands it from now is just trolling

Your recent photos are your recent photos

All your remaining photos are in photos tab, if you want those remaining photos saved locally you go to the photos tab, chose a moment , click share , save all photos in the moment and they will all save locally in recent photos.

Get it ?!

The thing people don't understand is the "Moments" thing, why on earth would anyone want it organised in that way all the time?

It's good, despite me never using it, it's a good way of organising it, but I just don't need it.

Maybe people don't understand because your not saying it correctly, first when you say photos tab, I assume you mean Photos app. Second, what do you mean save photos locally? The photos are local in the first place, and third, if I follow you're instructions and press Share on a Moment there is no Save option.

So all in all, no, I don't get it.

I already miss the camera roll. This is the only change I don't like in iOS8. Hope they bring it back.

If you open the photos app the first tab at bottom is photos that is the tab i am referring to

This "moments/collections" thing is total BS. Yeah, let's make it so people can see even less photos at a glance! Great idea! Instead of being able to see all my pictures for the past few weeks at a glance, in Moments they are separated by days/months category, which means I can only see 4-5 photos at a time, which right now is only three days of pictures. If I zoom out to Collections, I see a giant cluster**** of tiny pictures with useless date information that I couldn't care less about, taking up more space.

I never used the Photos tab in iOS 7 because it was crap, and now it's the same crap, except I'm being forced to use it. Usability/efficiency has been killed by the removal of Camera Roll. I'll be looking at doing a jailbreak for the first time ever if they don't fix this.
