A colleague told me of someone in his old place of work who was called Drew Peacock. I hope he was kidding!
But I did have a friend at school whose surname was Ennis, and his younger brother was called Philip.
P. Ennis.
What the hell were his parents thinking!?! Poor Phil came in for so much stick. Still, he's a fairly well adjusted person now.....

LOL, these are great!

There is a story going around the hospital that I've heard from enough people to give some credibility to:

A woman gave birth to twins, and the birth certificates read

Lemonjello (pronounced Luh-mon-ja-lo, with emphasis on the "mon")

Orangejello (pronounced O-ron-ja-lo, with emphasis on the "ron")
This is from a comedy skit I saw a year back on Comedy Central. Trust me, its not real. My wife and I still refer to it when thinking up child names.

Funny name;
Sandy Cox-girl I knew in high school

Anyone with the last name of Sweeny, i.e. John Sweeny or David Sweeny....

There was a story in the UK tabloids about a couple who called their baby the same name.

Another (genuine) one - a guy who works in the plant that makes the Viagra ingredients: "Willie Power"!!

hee hee MR members are dirty.

We had the usual oddities in the phone book growing up (not that I ever made prank calls or anything........ ) Harry Butts of course. There was a Fred Kruger, too.

A friend of mine was in the military, adn met a sailor with the last name Head. Tragic, because her title was "Seaman" - so she was addressed as "Seaman Head",,, could have been worse - like a sailor with last name "Guzzler". :D

The only thing I can think went wrong was they were MEANT to be "Cletus", "Amos" and Jebediah. Not MUCH better....sorry to any Cletuses or Amoses (or Jebediahs) out there.
Given that I'm from Wisconsin, I kind of take offense to that...There's a few of us here that are sane!

To add to the list:

Twins iin my city's school district not too long ago had names pronounced
"Oh-ron-gel-oh" and "Le-mon-gel-o", spelled "Orangejello" and "Lemonjello" respectively. Seriously.

Hmm, then my story must be made up....I wonder if the jello twins story has any factual basis.

Keep the silly names coming! :D :p

It wasn't a Wisconson thing. Trust me, we have PLENTY of Jebediahs, etc. here in Pennsylvania considering we have quite a few Amish.

That reminds me of a class I once had where a girl next to me was laughing about the name Bertha when a girl across the room piped up that her mother's name was Bertha. Just as a joke now if I hear someone saying something somewhat derogatory about a name or occupation, I tell them that one of my various family members has that name/occupation ("That's not funny, my Aunt Bertha aunt shovels elephant poo for a living").

Just remembered another, I used to work with a woman called Peta Philo.
The first time I heard her answer her phone I thought she introduced herself as a Pedophile.

There was a guy who was a couple of years younger than me at school who's surname was Cockhead. Seriously. He and his sister changed their names at 16!

There are a few Bumgardeners listed on our employee database at work too.

Freshman year of college I knew a John Thomas. Ironically, he was one of those REALLY uptight types. Nice guy, but you couldn't get even a little off-color around him. I think he knew about the reference as well, so that might explain the uptightness.

I went to college in Ithaca, but never had the opportunity to eat at JT. I hadn't put much thought into the reference...

I was a hostage to Ithaca for four years while the woman got her degree in Veterinary Medicine. Rarely went to John Thomas, though :)o ) -- spent most of our time (and money) at Maxies and Just a Taste.

God I miss Maxies.

I've seen Condom as a surname in my local phone book. I once had a teacher named Ms. Hoare; we called her Ms. H for obvious reasons. ;)

There's a famous former race car driver named Dick Trickle. Florida State University has a player with a last name of Fagg.

Other funny/odd names I've seen:

-Fudge Brown
-Peter Pan

I've also heard of people named Velveeta. Some parents...

To pull things out of the gutter a bit, here's a non-dirty one that I've always found amusing. The director of transportation for the school district where I grew up was Mr. Buss.
