I’m not sure what your point is. Some people like and buy Apple products, some people don’t. Is a thread really necessary just for you to say that you don’t like a product? Do you do this for other expensive products?

This has nothing to do with liking and buying products, you’re not getting it, if the consumer never demands standards then you will never get what you pay for. I will never just blindly buy a brand because it is a brand, lots do, after a while, yes companies learn that what consumers will and will not accept, and sorry to say that bar has kept dropping from year to year due to wanting more profit and less consumers.

And yes, I absolutely do this to other expensive products, it was not pretty when they charged me mandatory gas guzzler tax on my AMG, let’s just say that there were other concessions to make up for it. I have no problem paying for top quality as long as that’s what I’m getting, if I’m not I might as well go to Walmart and buy prepaid and keep my money instead of them.

Wow, seriously hard to believe in this day and age so many of you just throw money at them for just being them, no freaking wonder we aren’t getting top tier products every year. Lol and funniest part is that most of you can’t afford to throw that kind on money around, cause if you could, you wouldn’t.

You’re the one making claims. It’s on you to back up your claims.

it’s obvious to me that you have absolutely no idea what your talking about, or you are just bored and decided your fun would be acting a fool on the internet. Either way it’s sad to watch, so salvage it by enlightening me on what my 3 year old components will be.

Cool so point proven, thread over.
What’s the point of this topic if you aren’t actually going to discuss anything?

Apple knows exactly the required amount of RAM to run smoothly on their own operating systems. I, myself bought an iPhone 6s Plus because I knew that Apple had upgraded the iPhone to 2GB of RAM (vs 6 Plus with a paltry 1GB).
And the year before that the iPad Air 2 was the first device to get 2GB of RAM. That device is still being supported by Apple to this day and will get iPadOS.

So following this logic, 2GB of RAM for iOS devices was going to last quite a bit before 3GB would become the minimum required.

Apple Devices with 2GB of RAM:
Apple TV (Sept 2015)
iPad Pro 9.7 (Mar 2016) Display Resolution: 2048 x 1536
iPhone 7 (Sept 2016) Display Resolution: 1334 x 750
iPhone 8 (Sept 2017) Display Resolution: 1334 x 750
iPad 6th Gen (Mar 2018) Display Resolution: 2048 x 1536
iPod Touch 7th Gen (May 2019)

Apple Devices with 3GB of RAM:
iPhone 7 Plus (Sept 2016) Display Resolution: 1920 x 1080
iPhone 8 Plus (Sept 2017) Display Resolution: 1920 x 1080
iPhone X (Nov 2017) Display Resolution: 2436 x 1125
Apple TV 4K (Sept 2017)
iPhone Xr (Sept 2018) Display Resolution: 1792 x 828
iPad Mini 5 (Mar 2019) Display Resolution: 2048 x 1536
iPad Air 10.5 (Mar 2019) Display Resolution: 2224 x 1668
iPad 7th Gen 10.2 (Oct 2019) Display Resolution: 2160 x 1620

Apple Devices with 4GB of RAM:
iPad Pro 12.9 1st Gen (Nov 2015) Display Resolution: 2732 x 2048
iPad Pro 12.9 2nd Gen (Jun 2017) Display Resolution: 2732 x 2048
iPhone XS (Sept 2018) Display Resolution: 2436 x 1125
iPhone XS Max (Sept 2018) Display Resolution: 2688 x 1242
iPad Pro 11 (Nov 2018) *64GB/256GB/512GB Models only Display Resolution: 2388 x 1668
iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen (Nov 2018) *64GB/256GB/512GB Models only Display Resolution: 2732 x 2048
iPhone 11 (Sept 2019) Display Resolution: 1792 x 828
iPhone 11 Pro (Sept 2019) Display Resolution: 2436 x 1125
iPhone 11 Pro MAX (Sept 2019) Display Resolution: 2688 x 1242

Apple Devices with 6GB of RAM:
iPad Pro 11 (Nov 2018) *1TB Models only Display Resolution: 2388 x 1668
iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen (Nov 2018) *1TB Models only Display Resolution: 2732 x 2048

So as you can see, depending on your iOS device, 3GB is plenty for at least another 2 years just because of the iPhone 7 Plus and now iPad 7th Gen 10.2.

4GB is great to stay ahead and for longevity, 6GB is overkill at this moment. At least until iPadOS matures and we'll see where that OS goes.

The iPad needs RAM for obvious reasons- PIP, side by side apps, 3 apps together. RAM intensive "more desktop" tasks.

iPhone does none of that. It doesnt NEED 6gb of RAM to run; nice yes but not necessary. I've never had a RAM issue on a 4gb XS Max.

Wow.... talk about dramatic.

Bigger numbers doesn't mean it's inherently better. Like other people have said, the iPhones don't need to be stacked with ram because their software and other component optimizations how they are, iPhone simply USES less. I'm not going to (personally) buy a 30 room house when my family needs a 4 bedroom home, especially given the fact we'd have to produce children at a stupid rate to ever utilize the whole house. This is, of course, if you "expect more for your money than I do obviously, guess that’s why you have it.....", to quote you, jsmith1.

All that aside, these fine people here are trying to have a cordial conversation with you and the way you're responding is a bit silly. Settle down, it's just a cell phone. :)

I do think the iPhone is a bit over priced for its specification not far beyond our expectation. Overall there is also significant improvement in camera and in battery life (thanks to the more energy-saving chips). But, at that price point, I would expect more.

Also, I agree the iPhone 11 Pro should be supplied with RAMs more than it’s predecessors to better justify its “Pro” claim. But, it doesn’t mean it’s performance is inferior to android flagships in terms of user experience.

At the end, to buy or not to buy is merely a personal choice after one has considered a basket of factors. Clearly, iPhone 11 Pro is a significant upgrade for those who own iPhone 7 or its earlier models.

You’re talking about value and what it means to individuals, which ultimately lends to ones buying decisions. It’s all connected. If you don’t think the product has the value you need/expect, you don’t buy it. If enough people don’t buy the product, it puts pressure on the company to add more value. Unfortunately for your argument, many people still feel Apple products, and the iPhone, provide good value. That’s why all the screaming and crying every year makes very little difference and people like me resort to “if you don’t like it, don’t buy it”, because that’s the only thing you have control of. Otherwise, it’s just noise.

You must understand that buyers dictate the market by paying for what they think is worth it. I’m sorry you do not like some aspects of the new iPhones! However you do understand you do not represent all iPhone buyers right? If the majority believe it is not worth it, it won’t sell. You sound like you’re trying to raise a dam revolution and it’s really not that dramatic. If you don’t like it, that’s perfectly ok! There’s a massive market of other smart phones out there.
[doublepost=1568469576][/doublepost]Just like for me personally, I didn’t think the XS was a good upgrade for the price from my iPhone X. So I didn’t buy it! This year I liked what I saw so I bought it.

The amount of drama that follows the keynote every year is _staggering_. I just like to remind myself it doesn’t translate to ‘real world people’ complaining about the littlest things. If you don’t like what Apple offers, then don’t buy it. It’s a really simple concept, that others seemingly ignore by thinking that they’re altering/changing peoples minds on a tech forum. But if venting makes someone feel better, please, continue on.
