Thats true tone. It makes colors what the really are in real life. Yelloish lighting equal yellowish whites.

True tone works well on the 8 and the iPad Pro but turns the X yellow. Even with it off the screen doesn't seem to look right.
 
Once the novelty wears off, it becomes normality. That's with everything. It's like the first time I saw HD and thought 'holy ****'. Although tbh, HD still impresses me much like 4k does.

Err...I think I imploded my own point.
 
Blacks look great for sure and everything does pop more. I notice the better resolution too with small text. No going back for me. Turn off auto brightness too.

So basically, it's relevant when you want to sit on your sofa in the dark for a few hours staring knowingly at your lock screen.

You should see the new OLED's. The iPhone X OLED is extremely color accurate, and does not look cartoonish.

I have thanks.... LCD still also outperforms outside in direct sunlight. For the average person they won’t see any difference in every day usage but yes I’ll give you the blacks. But like I said the colour to me, still looks oversaturated with OLED.
