Hi everyone, I am the developer of a relatively new text recognition software for the Mac, OnDevice OCR Pro.

The app is built in Swift/SwiftUI, and OCR processing is performed locally using Apple's Vision framework with hardware acceleration from Apple Silicon. It's a one-time purchase with some features that may be interesting for power users:

- No data collection
- Batch processing (PDFs and almost all image formats are supported)
- Folder monitoring (hot folder) that processes new files in the background, even when the app is closed
- Apple Shortcuts integration that lets you create custom workflows and automations—also controllable via AI agents
- Auto-orientation that detects text direction and rotates incorrectly oriented pages
- Finder integration: you can process documents with just a right-click
- A smart filter that detects already searchable (vector) PDFs like invoices and skips them

If you're interested, you can download it for free and try all features, with a watermark applied to the output. The app is a one-time purchase of $12.99.

Please let me know if you have questions, feedback, or just want to tell me which features are important to you that my app might be missing.

Best regards, Christian
