What kind of world we live in where someone is able to have job making something completely useless? Good job idiot, you have article on you on Internet for a whole day. When that day is over, go back and make some french fry. Lol

As a collector of antique (century-old and older) typewriters, I think this creation is fantastic!

Those who can't do criticize!

What pathetic nonsense. Does this guy have to run everything he does by you, assuming you're not too busy being so highly productive for the benefit of mankind.

Those who can't do criticize because those who can do are too busy doing something productive and not have time to criticize people for their ideas....

useful as this:

This is actually very efficient in getting juice squeezed from citrus, witch is the original purpose of that item. People should really start criticizing things that they know first-hand instead of bashing products just because someone else (who also probably never used the given product) said it was rubbish for some unknown reason.
As an industrial designer, while I don't necessarily love Stark's creations (at least not just for the sake of being Stark's), I really dig into the Juicy Salif. It's very efficient in fulfilling its primary goal (just try it out if you don't believe me) and at the same time it's visually intriguing, being capable of raising doubt on the user and act as some kind of "conversation starter"...

Regarding the typewriter-like keyboard mentioned in the article, I really doubt of it's usefulness as a mechanical keyboard for the iPad... but then again, if it can act as a "conversation starter" that's already, per-se, a valid 'use-case' for the thing isn't it?

When I saw this as an april fools joke last year, I was really sad it wasn't real!! Maybe when the kinks get worked out and if the price is right, I'll get one. Oh, but I'll need an iPad first. Screw that, I'll just keep typing on my '66 Olivetti Studio 44

The irony is he can't type.

ikr, wait till he locks the keys up and crashes his pages app.

Thank you.
A waste of time not only for the typist, but think of all the time he spent making this thing. Does he live off his daddy's trust fund or somthing and can spend his life designing and making useless crap?

Yeah he should do something productive like play mmorpg's like a normal person. [/sarcasm]

While I feel this is a complete waste of time and resources I cant help but think about how I would redesign this to be easier on the screen and allow you to type a heck of a lot faster (I assume he types so slow as to not damage anything but it is very maddening to watch). Luckily I have that internal review process that tells me "Just because I could do something, doesn't mean I should." I have lots of ideas all the time but its important to be able to sort out, before you start, which are just terrible ideas as well as which aren't practical. Pretty sure this would have gone into my "stupid ideas" folder though if all he wanted was to be featured on tech websites then he has accomplished that, personally I want more from my ideas.

What happens when you have to insert symbols like ($:&4859(00?9.
I can't see the type changing on the hardware?

ya? and wheres the page on the internet discussing what YOU'VE made for fun? lets see your neat projects, shall we?

oh wait. you..dont...have...any....

Thank you.

Wow what a close-minded statement. In that case, Picasso was making useless crap, the first car ever made was useless crap. Heck, the first computer ever made was most likely considered useless crap at first.

Please, just because you cannot pull off anything creative doesn't mean that those who can are useless...

I hope this is a joke. Looks like a good gag gift for my mother in law.

The iCade was originally an April fools joke... but we're a few months too late.
