i Used to work at a corporate AT&T store and have been asked the most ridiculous questions from uninformed customers. One of my favorites was when I informed one young man that his new iPhone 4 was in fact 3G he asked how much it would be to install another "G" to make it 4G.

You have GOT to be joking, right? Oh man, that is hilarious! Sounds like I'd love to hear your stories! :D

Maybe

Maybe 34% of iPhone 4 users should read mac rumors at least 3x a day like i do & never be uninformed....

...maybe americans should have voted for mccain and 100% of iphone users would have had an iphone 4g already...

This is not surprising. And I'd bet if you asked any non-4G phone user of any brand, you'd have a high percentage say they have it.

Most consumers are not that sharp. They hear tidbits of info and run with it. I know several people who don't even know the difference between an iPhone and other smart phones. They think any touch screen phone is an iPhone.

But... this is the reality of the market and why all the techie things you can do with a Android phone or a Jail Broken iPhone mean nothing to 90% of buyers. Most struggle with just turning it on.

Wondering if these 34% also think a G spot is where you get the best reception?

My experience is that if you locate the G spot you get very good reception indeed.

To bad it's been shown that the 'G'
spot doesn't exist.

I have never hit my head on my desk any harder than I did when reading this article.

No wonder it's so hard to explain things to people...

Significant percentages of current Android and BlackBerry owners are also registering interest in the next iPhone, with or without 4G.

THAT'S the part of the story that made me grin! Go Apple!

Show the "wannabes", the "me-toos", the "lookalikes" and the "copycats" that a superior product, backed by fantastic marketing and ecosystem is the rightful king of the hill!

Certainly says a lot about the iPhone userbase. :p

Most of them have more important things to worry about? I have several very successful friends who are Doctors and it is unlikely any of them know what 4G is.

well that proves it. 1/3 of iphone users are stupid. i wonder how this ties in with the 1/4 of all americans are retarded thing.

I suspect those people are the ones who think people who don't know what 4g means in 2011 are stupid. I suspect that is most of the 1/3 in the later part of your post. The worst dumb people are the ones who think they are smart.

i work retail and people always ask me how to activate an ipod touch 4g with their company so they dont have to use wifi

i know its a bit confusing to some that dont keep up with tech much and even people think the iphone 4 is 4g capable so this dosent surprise me all that much lol

This just in, 90% of teleco marketing departments think they have 4G

Being that the FTC is allowing the telco pirates to advertise their current offerings as "4G networks" I am not so surprised by this number. This is exactly the intent of AT&T and Verizon's advertising. We can all expect a new marketing label once they actually deploy full LTE networks: "True 4G" or "high-speed 4G" or some other malarky. Looking at the numbers for Android believers they are hardly savvier in this advertising pissing match than iPhone owners.

I seriously thought I was reading The Onion.
Best reply ever...lmfao
Clearly a case for Al Franken to demand less confusing advertising.

Wondering if these 34% also think a G spot is where you get the best reception?
Oh boy...

This also goes to show why non-tech savvy people need to stop comparing high end phones and saying one is "crap". Seriously like how the Verizon store guys tell people all the iPhone apps cost money and android apps are all free....God I hate misinformation...

Not surprised, I don't think the vast majority of iOS or even Mac OS users are tech savvy.. :roll eyes: The reason I say that is because its true, most people typically switch to Mac OS because they are having issues with Windows and do not know how to resolve them..

Where as an advanced Windows user could easily deal with any issues that comes there way.. And not to mention every time I see someone reviewing iMacs or MacBooks you often see people making mistakes with regards to hardware..

Although Mac users may be academically sound, they probably know little or nothing about computers.. :p

Yeah I'm a Mac user too, but the point I'm making is I don't think the majority of Apple fans are very educated with regards to computers.. And thats completely understandable..

Not everyones lives revolves around Computers..

Anyway just my thoughts.. And probably why iPhone users mistake iPhone 4 with 4G..

just shows that average consumer is a complete idiot when it comes to technology. Average consumer buys on impulse. They don't know what the hell a certain technology is, they don't know why they want it or how they will use it, but because everyone is talking about it, they want it. Sad really.

Can't blame em... I don't research everything I purchase. I have no idea where the beef I ate last night was raised. I don't know the thread-count of my underwear... Not everyone has the desire to know everything.

I'm not sure that was fair.

That said, I do know a bit about the iPhone 4 I'm using.

Some of us have to deal with the "issues" every day at work and just got tired of dealing with them at home.

doesn't surprise me one bit. Most of the people that I deal with that have HDTV's use standard equipment and think they have HD. They get confused when I tell them they need an HD satellite or HD Cable Box.

Too bad it's been shown that the 'G'
spot doesn't exist.

Try doing some 'research' for yourself... you might be surprised...

i get that a lot too.... they buy a TV and try to return it beacuse the picture is crappy

Abandoned iOS when the crappy iPhone 4 came out and haven't looked back. Now I have a 4G LTE phone, and yes I know it isn't "true" 4G capable of 1GB/s speed.

I bet it'll confuse you to no end to hear that you can get HD free over the air. With a standard antenna. Whoa!
