Yeah. But 20% is 20%.

And unfortunately for Disney, they have refused to release their/Fox entire catalog. So while they may keep adding original content slowly, in the next 1-2 quarters, people will have caught up on their entire catalog.
So how many total subscribers next quarter?

I just love how people still try to make almost 74M subscribers in less than a year sound disappointing. It’s incredible. It took Netflix 15 years to get this many subscribers.

Hahaha 😂😂😂.

Delusion: convince yourself.

Partiality in these forums never ceases to amaze me. No, Apple does NOT have “a lot more shows available”, they have a substantially fewer number of titles to choose from. Also it is more likely to find something worth watching/rewatching on Disney Plus than on ATV+ and I am not talking about kids shows, I mean for the broader audience (it includes Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic, Hulu, and so much more). The comparison is absurd.

Many people citing/laughing and almost cynically bullying D+ for having The Mandalorian as a very successful show, I find it remarkable that they were able to kick it off with such a hit so quickly, for a service than launched AFTER ATV+, something we cannot say about the latter.
Sorry, I should have clarified that ATV+ has more new content.

Or I'm I mistaken in thinking that The Mandalorian and a few movies released since the pandemic started are all that D+ has to offer that hasn't previously been available on DVD and/or Netflix?

Comes free with Verizon plans. Wouldn’t have it otherwise. Then again atv+ is bundled with (or comes free with a device) appleOne. Would have it otherwise.

Disney will have to do much better than this. One series that I still don’t care about. Marvel and phase one 2 3 and all that was great. Awesome. But it’s sort of fizzled out now.

Really enjoyed Netflix picking up cobra Kai. Not sure what bigger hints either apple or Disney needs. Actually I’m sure Disney gets it but covid.

Some really bad maths here...
6.99 x 73.7 million = $515,163,000 - over 500 million dollars a month!!

Not only did you miss by a factor of x10, you also used 70.7 rather than 73.7.

Grade F - must do better.
That’s what I get for using the calculator on my phone. And not writing it down😂 but you are 100% correct it’s 73.7 million!

A lot of the warner bros. stuff is on HBO max. Its pretty much what your talking about. They have harry potter and lord of the rings.
But not the DC stuff, or Matrix from what I understand... It would be nice to get extended universe shows from all the major Warner franchises, just like Disney is handling theirs.

HBO is just another third-party service that licenses the content, so it's just not the same consolidation I'm looking for.

Alas, it is what it is.

Personally I love Disney+
For the money it’s a steal, 4K HDR content.

Netflix on the other hand seems like a waste of money to me but I understand why people like it.
This is always surprising for me to hear. Netflix has the single most varied content out there, the amount of it is enormous, and the value is there (it's relatively inexpensive).

In addition, I find Netflix's first-party content to be generally be top-notch, form Marvel Series like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, to the underrated Marco Polo, Longmire, The Killing, and Peaky Blinders. Even their horror catalogue like The Haunting was pretty great in my opinion, and it is one of the few places where an entire season of a show drops at once.

I cut the cord half a decade ago or more and Netflix is my mainstay. I can turn Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime and their piecemeal services like HBO and Starz on and off monthly, but Netflix is my bedrock.

Will watch the Mandalorian Season 2, then cancel. I suspect more streaming services will switch from 'dump seasons at once' to weekly episode drops, just in order to keep customers for a few more weeks.

They would probably have more subscribers if they have disney+ worldwide. In my country, the sign-in wont even show unless I have vpn turned on. Saves me money though coz would love to have disney+.

I think these numbers are highly inflated for stock prices. I doubt there are that many Star Wars fans. I thought the mandalorian was Baby Yoda babysitting in space. Good, not "OMG, amazing." Glad I didn't pay for the service more than a month.

Frankly, I don't see the appeal of the service outside of wanting it for kids or the Disney / Marvel hardcore fan.

I like my individual Marvel shows and movies, and I got those through iTunes codes and deals so I have them available in iTunes forever, instead of paying monthly to Disney.

I was really disappointed by the lack of back catalog considering Disney is the giant mouse in the business ( ABC / Hulu / Fox / Marvel) and seemingly can't get license rights to anything, or just doesn't want to offend anybody in modern times so it pretends stuff it made doesn't exist anymore? So I have to go on iTunes to get it? I can't be the only 34 yo millennial that grew up on lots of Disney collaboration content that isn't inside of the Disney+ app. VHS and DVD racks of it.

Hell, they sent Love Victor over to Hulu because he's gay? What kind of corporate ******** is this? I'm ****ing gay, grow a pair and unify your licensing or get the **** out. So you want me to pay for Hulu + Disney and EPSN separately. I get the privilege of never owning any content for how much?

Might as well just pay iTunes for that content. Or rip it myself.
