I'm curious how the controller works... I already have the controller. Is the $50 for the an adapter or another controller with an adapter?

Unfortunately with the insanely low monthly caps* that some of us have in Canada, this service is dead on arrival, just like Netflix Canada which has an extremely limited library to begin with.

* ex: my download+upload monthly cap is 35GB, after that it's something like 5$/GB.

Who the hell are you signed up with?? Are you out in the country side?

Just for your info I've been using OnLive for about 5 months and it's a superb service.

I also have an Xbox/PS3/Wii/3DS too but for gaming (properly) when out and about OnLive is superb on my MacBook. Smooth, responsive gameplay and a reasonable choice of titles to chose from (though more big hitters would be nice which I'm sure will gather in time).

They also offer a £6.99 a month service for unlimited play of over 100 games, though this are mostly NOT the new releases.

Pricing wise, roughly the same as the boxed version but no download times, no shop going and cloud game saves it's a fair price. Also, if you play a game on your Mac then switch off and load the game on the home console (ON YOUR BIG TV) then it picks up in the same place - this is awesome!

So all in all, to then have it on my iPad (pending purchase :p) and my 4S is just another little bonus to this great service.

Very pleased and hopefully brings it more success which will benefit us all in the long run.

You don't. This is a new controller that has yet to even go on sale. The micro Console controller is not compatible with Mac/Pc or mobile devices.

Didn't see this posted...

OnLive has no idea when its iPad app will launch.
Following this morning's announcement that the cloud gaming service had begun rolling out on tablet devices, users noticed only the Android version was available.

Now, over 14 hours later, the iOS app is yet to materialise.
"Unfortunately, we can't predict when the OnLive iPad app will be officially released," a spokesperson told Eurogamer. "We'll certainly post it on our website when it is available."

Meanwhile, OnLivefans reports that the iOS app will not allow purchases to be made from within the app - unlike the Android version. It claims the reason for this is Apple's in-app purchase rules - Apple requires a 30 per cent cut of the profits from any purchases made within any app downloaded from the App Store. Fans are speculating that OnLive may be forced to remove in-app purchases from the iOS app to secure its release.

I love the concept of OnLive, and from what I've seen of it (based on what I've played), it works great.

Tried it out a few months ago and was really impressed -- no issues with lag, even on a sub-par Internet connection on a four year old MacBook Pro. Being able to play some console-quality titles on my iPad seems pretty awesome.

That said, I wish they had a larger selection of games...

I've been quite impressed with the Onlive service. It's nice to be able to play a game that requires a highly sophisticated graphics card on an old computer like my '09 Macbook. I thought this was going to be a flop when it came out about a year and a half ago, but seeing the iPad app at E3 this year, this service is gonna be a huge success. Think about how successful the app store is with gaming and the iPod Touch is considered a competitor with Nintendo. Now add the Onlive app. They are gonna make a huge profit.

I've been keeping up with Onlive, daily, now because they're starting to become like the Steam client with tons of sales. I got Borderlands, NBA '11, and MLB '10 for $5 each. Then Batman Arkham Asylum and Orcs Must Die for a $1 each. Soon I will get Lego Batman for free! Also, there was a deal in the summer where if you spent over $10, you get a 100% off coupon. I got the $99 Onlive Console for free! Thanks giving they were giving out free 5 day play passes for Red Faction and Homefront. Sometimes they'll offer a Onlive console for free if you pre-order a game.

I tried this on my Kindle Fire this morning after having OnLive since it debuted. It amazes me how they were able to get it all working. On-screen controllers aren't too bad and the 3D is awesome.

Oh, and don't doubt that they ARE ready for the demand. They took MONTHS just trying to get it to work seamlessly on Wi-Fi already.

@people saying "I'm happy wih my Xbox 360/PS3"
Yes, but the point in this is you won't need to shell out on an Xbox 3/PS4/new graphics card, because this will always be able to offer more power than any hardware you can have in your home.

Well, at least I can play my games if my internet's down.

Wait a minute...! The app is on the Kindle Fire and not the iPad? WTF?

I sideloaded it. You can sideload whatever on the Kindle Fire. I'm happily running things like DOSBox, Mini vMac, and some emulators for Genesis, Gameboy Advanced, SNES with no problems whatsoever. No root needed. :D.

Actually, OnLive is the only thing that REALLY kills the battery, but you get a good hour of gameplay out of it. I'm sure that'll get better anyway.

I own one of the mini consoles and to be honest you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between OnLive and Xbox 360 at 720p. When running Onlive on your computer it looks like ass.
