kobodl still works! No problems with the new dependencies, though I do wonder if they are all necessary.

It failed to run otherwise. Python ports is not something I will do for fun LOL

P. S. On a different note, I have updated a third of our multimedia stack today, that gonna trigger some rebuilds. Ping me if that has broken something for you.

Sorry for the dumb question but... I have installed the latest VLC2 from PowerPC Ports but I can't find the application anywhere, was it supposed to be in "Applications/MacPorts" folder like QMPlay2 ?

It does not install the app because it does not use Cocoa. Launch from CLI, having X server installed.

You can always check what a given port installed like this:
Code:
port contents ${portname}

pygitzen

aniworld updated to 4.0.0.

aniworld-legacy keeps v.3 branch for compatibility (since v.4 is vastly different).

Well, it is apparently usable, though there are two annoying bugs immediately noticeable:

1. Trying to open a file results in a crash, not clear why. I got around by opening a directory instead.
2. Video preview is static, if I open it, and missing otherwise.

P. S. Build system is a nightmare.

Somehow it stopped crashing on opening files via a menu.
Video conversion works perfectly fine, I can get a flawlessly playing mpeg from an av1 slideshow lol
Previews are like that by design; they preview encoding, so delays are expected (and happen on x86_64 too).

First of all I want to thank everybody who tries to keep PPC macs alive, ans especially barracuda156 for powerpc ports and every other one that hosts precompiled binaries for leopard G4! I had been away for a long time, and I am really impressed and grateful for making my powerbook usable again!

But I have a problem with GPTifier, it installed without problems from powerpc ports, but I can type only one question, it answers and asks if I want to write reply to file, and then it exits.. I execute "gpt run"..

Unfortunately my powerbook died.. 🙁 but I am going to install powerpc ports to my Snow leopard install on my macbook using rosetta and I will try it again! thank you!

Just in case, if the point is having ports working and not necessarily on ppc arch, you may be able to set up it for x86. That won’t be straightforward, but should work with some tweaks. I use my PPCPorts on Catalina and Sonoma, for example.

I really like the fact that so many ports are precompiled for ppc, but thanks! Unfortunately gptifier does the same thing. I followed the instractions on the notes, but nothing changed. I will open a ticket.
