I am sure it will be a very good product to use. I invasion something you could pin on your shoulder and it will be your buddy. Apple is too late for its AI venture. They’re way behind. Siri is a big joke. It was made to look smart, but it’s not.?
Again, this is like the beginning of the gold rush in San Francisco (pun intended). The companies that made the most money were NOT the ones mining for gold (AI companies). It was the entrepreneurs who sold shovels and tools and beer and lodging to the miners who really made it big.

Maybe Apple is not late. Perhaps they already decided not to be AI miners. Maybe they plan to leverage Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude (all AI tools) for the benefit of their customers.

Does it really matter who is providing the backend data for SIRI, as long as your research is answered quickly and accurately?

Isn’t that what Microsoft is doing with OpenAI partnership for Copilot? Is that not the same strategy that Apple uses now with Siri tapping into ChatGPT, and if the rumors are correct they will soon add Gemini’s another shovel on their shelf?

Hmmm. Are they really late?

Why is everybody bringing up the pin? They know about the pin and that it failed, and it appears they refer to a form factor that has not been seen or not been combined with AI yet. It could be a necklace, a nose ring, or a fake tooth. 🦷

If it can help people, as they say, do research, find cures for cancer*, improve lives, it's great. I'll wait to see what they announce. I'll wait to see if what they announce doesn't hallucinate. I'll wait to see if the LLM it's built on doesn't steal intellectual property (probably too late for that!). If any of it is worth the (chill-vibe) hype in this video, it could be amazing. But if it's just futurists talking about how swell they are, then okay, nothing to see here. We will see.

*how many times have tech types promised that in order to gain sympathy, support, finances? Treatments for certain cancers are improving, definitely, but too often that line is a sales pitch.

A lovely teaser. I am very curious to see what they come up with and, considering Ive’s previous tech miracles, I believe we won’t be disappointed.

And here it is!

Screenless design?

Think of all the stuff you do on your iPhone, could you do that without a screen? Would you WANT to do that without a screen?
Eddy Cue thinks we won't need iPhones/devices with displays in the future. He thinks wearables (smart glasses) combined with advancements in A.I. will replace it [iPhone].

I disagree. Wouldn't people who play games on their iPhone have to carry around a controller? Battery life of smart glasses are terrible too. Streaming music for an hour or two will completely drain the battery of the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses.

At 55 employees that's over $100M per employee! Well, it's safe to say Apple can no longer afford to bring back Ive. And with it goes all my hope of good design ever coming out of Apple.

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get in early on this with a poke at Ive for finally removing all the ports from something, all tactile controls and making the interface completely unusably dull, indistinct and uninspiring.

But he went and outdid all those by selling his non-existent product to the panic-ridden Altman who's business is having to diversify into anything they can quickly because the promised growth isn't coming from their core proposition.

Business idiots. All of them.

Good. I currently like the number of holes I have and I'm thin enough already.

Apple faces yet another strategic blow. This development could fundamentally disrupt their position in the market, reminiscent of Blackberry’s downfall when they clung to physical keyboards while Apple revolutionized the industry with touchscreen technology. History may be repeating itself, but with Apple now in the vulnerable position.
Apple’s issues have nothing to do with AI, which consumers don’t want or care about

If Ive's butterfly keyboard didn't disappoint you, you'll probably be very happy with what he designs for AI.

Yes lets ignore all of the countless other things that Ive designed at Apple. You know the one's that pretty much shaped modern Apple's identity.
