The more I find out about this Sam Altman fellow, the more I don't care for him.
Or I just pictured the opposite scenario. What if he uses the opportunity to make a BlackBerry-style phone... with a butterfly keyboard! If it is a truly Jony Ive design, it will be beautiful. No buttons or ports, curved glass, super thin. It will also get about 4 hours of battery life and break if you look at it funny.
It was some type of wearable. That's when Apple decided to copy the idea. 😂Altman and his ilk know that it won't be. OpenAI is losing money hand-over-fist, so they need to keep the investor money flowing in. They throw this type of thing out ever six months or so to get more cash; previously it was Ive and his OpenAI egg-on-a-lanyard, or whatever is was supposed to be.
To be fair, Satya killed all the remaining phone projects as soon as he took over. He knew the score.Microsoft to announce release of (another) Windows based phone, now with Copilot, in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
There are people happily paying for ChatGPT subscriptions. Offer that massive number of folks a bonus on their token use if the request is coming from a ChatGPT phone and they’ll have users from day one. It really doesn’t have to do anything much more than that as millions rely on ChatGPT to know how to dress, how to respond to people and what to eat. Spending less on their subscription is not an option for them.
It's a shame because the Surface phones were good. They make a good launcher too.To be fair, Satya killed all the remaining phone projects as soon as he took over. He knew the score.
Disruption is usually caused by a company you don’t expect, not a mega corp already in the space. In order to rival iPhone, you must not use Android tbh.
You must make your own OS.
I feel that the only people who could rival the iPhone was Microsoft, but they ended up flopping very early on.
Yeah, it's right here......somewhere........where'd I put it? hmmm......*flush* 😁Yeah this won’t happen.
Facebook phone. Fire phone. Y’all got them, right?
He "stepped up" to chairman of the board, leaving the CEO spot for someone younger. Conspiracy theories notwithstanding, he is of retirement age and needs to do less, but he is not leaving the company. It’s not a coincidence that Tim had to step down at this critical juncture.
