I wish Apple the best in their lawsuit.
Doubt it. They didn't sue Xiaomi for their Mi Watch.

Most keep saying how this is an ‘exact’ copy of the Apple Watch, first of all, it’s not if members would take the time to see the differences. (But shape wise, it’s vastly similar.)

Second of all, it’s not like Oppo has the ‘upper hand’ on Apple, they don’t really have branding in northern America at all.

The Apple Watch is the leader in the smart watch segment, but they have the branding behind the product. Some of these Chinese manufacturers have been copying Apple for years, but it doesn’t really sway the consumer in that regard.

Ridiculous. They have no shame.

does any android manufacturer? Lol.

this is great because we finally have an aesthetic and functional competitor to the Apple Watch! Should Oppos sales become significant ...

We’ll see great performance increases every year of the Watch by Apple and no more “s” series updates.

Bolded: They won’t. Oppo has no grounds in Northern America. Think about it for a minute, let’s say Oppo copied the Apple Watch on every facet, how many consumers would actually even know anything about their branding, it’s android-based and they’ve zero marketing. This product will fade with no following behind it.

The efforts some people go to delude reality to defend “their side”never ceases to amaze.

To be fair, we see and hear the exact same sort of thing from some Apple fans - for them, anything the company does is golden, and criticism is heresy.

People need to call a spade a spade, regardless of the source. If something is good, praise it; if something is bad, condemn it; and if something is a blatant copy (as this OPPO Watch is) - mock it mercilessly. 😁

No, they don't. I read that China has a law that says if you copy a device, it has to have some subtle feature different than the original in order for the producer to not be fined and put out of business.

They can literally copy *anything* as long as there is one subtle difference. Two buttons was apparently enough. It drives IP owners crazy I'd bet, but it is their law.

EDIT: Oh, they don't have the spinning crown. Case closed. It's perfectly legal. In China...

It looks more like a shrunken Galaxy S6.

At least OPPO made their leather band look like leather and not compressed cardboard like Apple.

There was nothing like the iPhone when it came out.
That you know you mean? The limited battery/usagetime, the lack of fm radio? Coverage/antenna-issues?
So under the new trade deal China should be dealing with this...which probably won’t happen
the question is: should it happen?

Companies can come close but its clear no one can match the fit, finish and polish of the Apple Watch. Nice try though Oppo.

While I don’t condone what is happening with duplication of other companies IP, this YouTube video helps explain the difference between western and eastern mindsets when it comes to innovation:

They should have at least called it the Series 6

“Look I got the new Oppo Watch”
“The new Apple Watch?”
“Yes, the new Oppo Watch!”
“The Series 6”
“Yes! The new Oppo Watch Series 6!”
“O M G it’s beautiful!”

So apple invented the "tank" or rectangular watch?
Nope.
The shape is similar and that's all.
But there are pleany of round watches are they all copies?
You either make a rectangular or a round watch.

All chronograph type watches are knock offs of another?
Apple didn't invent the smartwatch.
Apple didn't invent the rectangular watch.
I may be too oldschool, had my swiss watch when the lcd watch came and went, still have (the same) when the apple wrist ipod came along, will still have it when it disappears.. over 40 years old, the best investment I ever made..

Fact is, this company just nicked Apple's design and half heartedly tries to claim it as it's own. I'd say 99.99% of people, if asked about those images, would identify the device as an Apple Watch.
Nop, no crown, better design of display.. I like it..

how is the design of the display any better... it even has got it's own chin, they're just too ashamed to show it
and the OS is an exact replica of watchOS. no deny in that.
