It's an option for any company I believe when shipping, to require at least one delivery attempt.
I'm in the same boat as you but I pre-ordered on Friday at about 1:30p.m. Regardless of that I spoke with one of the Client Care representatives last night and he informed me that the Telus iPhone 4S shipments will indeed begin shipping on October 13th 2011. He didn't specify a time but he did say that they are definitely shipping on the 13th. He also mentioned that the reason why Telus customers aren't able to track their iPhones on FedEx or UPS like people from the US and even internationally is because they are not coming from China or the US. Telus' iPhone 4S shipments are coming from within a distribution centre in Canada. The last but probably most important bit of information he gave me was that the order in which the phones are delivered in is not going to happen sequentially but rather based on location. The closer you live/ the quicker the trucks can move out from where ever the distribution centre is the sooner you'll receive your iPhone 4S. Obviously things like the weather, traffic, etc must be taken into consideration but he assured me that all Telus clients upgrading from existing contracts or buying into new ones who have pre-ordered will be receiving their iPhone 4S sometime between October 14th-18th. If you have not received your phone by that time than you should call Telus Client Care immediately.

I'm really starting to think that they're updating everyone to Monday just in case. I don't see why, if they leave Louisville tonight and head to Canada, they can't be delivered tomorrow. Is it going to take that long to clear them all through customs?
whyyy?? that ups tracking gave us false hope that we'd get it tom. looks like our phone is on the same plane from china to here. it's taking such a long time, they should be best friends by now. where is our phone headed to now? im lost.
I believe they're pre-cleared and don't require going through customs, someone mentioned this is what UPS refers to when they say "World Ease". If they had left Anchorage earlier in the day than I definitely think it would have been possible for delivery tomorrow. However, considering the time between now and when they have to go out for delivery tomorrow morning (I think UPS starts at 8am?), it doesn't look good.
Personally I think it does look good this is the exact same route that my Mac Mini was on and I got it the next day at 6:28 pm. All the shipments that came UPS from China arrived in Hamilton Mount Hope Airport then went to kitchener and out for delivery.
Yeah, I saw that back on page 9, and we are pretty much on that schedule. I also ordered something from china last week (switcheasy cases) and they followed the same schedule as your Mac mini.
Yes, I agree. You might get it. But I think Pearson is busier than Mount Hope, so folks in the GTA might get delayed.
Monday could be the whole "under promise, over deliver" kind of thing.

No problem. I might be deluding myself, since this IS UPS after all. First time I'm dealing with them for an iDevice, would much rather FedEx.
Meh. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a delivery this week. It's not even in Louisville yet. Even f it was in Ontario by now, I'd still be pretty sure I wasn't getting a Friday morning delivery here in Montreal.
