Don’t worry. You’ll regret soon once you face the reality of a 2.5 hr battery life.
I've been using an iPhone 3G with a 4 hour battery and before that a 5S that by it's end had a 40 minute battery life.

I can always replace it from Apple or just put a new iPhone 7 battery in it.

I also just bought an iPhone 6s. I got mine brand new from cricket wireless. For those complaining about battery life, mine lasts all day. The 4.7 inch screen is perfect plus it has the headphone jack. I love this phone!

I’m surprised how many disparage against the 6S, that phone is still completely relevant with the A9 processor/2GB, the last phone to support the 3.5 mm Jack [Aside from the SE] and it still includes 3D Touch. That probably was one of my favorite iPhones in that particular series (6/6s/7).
Hmm, I don’t actually see anybody disparaging the 6S. It is a well beloved model despite its sales being eclipsed by the iPhone 6. I still use my launch 6S. Other than its battery life (can’t help the tiny battery) and maybe camera quality vs latest iPhones, it’s still a perfectly capable phone in 2019. The 2GB RAM definitely helps a lot in its longevity.

Did you guys not get the $30 battery replacement from Apple?
Even better, Apple actually had a battery replacement program for the 6S. I had mine replaced twice for free under this program, even though I was ready to shell out $30, ut the genius told me it’s still covered by the program so it was free. :D
So I’m rocking a launch 6S with 100% battery health,.

Will probably come Monday...

That's awesome. The one I ordered actually is still on iOS 10.1.1, I'm considering leaving it there.

I love my 6s!!
I'm on 12.0.1 and it runs great.

Well it seems you made your decision or bad experience.
With my usage i get 5 hours SOT. Of course not constant GPS or heavy gaming. But in my case it works and i didn’t see an impact in ios12. when i go to bed i put it on the charger with 20-30% left.

In any case whats the point? That a new iphone for 5 times the cost lasts longer? I certainly hope it does. But atm still not worth it imho

The battery graphs don’t show real screen on time.

Show me proof of your screen time figures. It’s impossible for a 6s to get 5 hrs SOT.

You can get 5 hrs screen on usage as per the battery graphs though. That’s easy.

It is entirely possible with brightness/battery settings changed to get 5 hours screen time. With a fresh 6S battery or a 7 battery. I don't know if iOS 12 wrecked battery that bad but on 10 it should be no problem.

If we're going to complain that our batteries don't last long constantly, we should throw our iPhones away and go back to using Nokias that last a long time.

Good phone, but the ugliest one in terms of design.

Yes, yes, "derp why does it matter when you're just going to use a case, derp" but that still doesn't exempt the 6S from being an ugly phone.

I've been on an iPhone 5S for a few years now, but the battery was wrecked (I actually did use the 3G for a short time to hold me over) and have been looking for a new phone. I considered switching to Samsung as I am moving away from the Mac platform too, but after looking I decided an older iPhone would be fine for my light usage. After pondering between the 7 and 6S I decided 6S. Main reason was I got a good deal on a 6S, trying to save cash where possible right now. Headphone jack will be nice too. I mainly use it as a basic phone, and a GPS for Maps. I probably won't update the iOS on it unless there is a really killer feature in the future and it doesn't slow the phone down. Gonna try and hold out with the 6S for a few years, maybe until 2022.

It's funny, I had a 6 and at the time it was bar none my favorite phone and I didn't hate the design, but I did have to concede that the antenna lines weren't ideal. It never hit me until later iPhones, but the off-radiused rear camera location is really odd too. Now when I look at the refined, thicker, heavier, solid 8 with its glass back, no antenna lines, and properly located camera, and compare it to the wafer thin 6/6S in aluminum with that tiny little camera and antenna lines, it then really hits home how the 6/6S probably are the ugliest phones, besides the 2G/3G/3GS. Still the best screen I ever had though on that 6.

I like all of this except for the last sentence. I don’t think any iPhone besides the 4gb ones will be worth using by 2022. Even my 3gb 8+ will most likely be a dog by then. The 6s will probably be next to unusable by then. It’s a good thought, but the phone is old today and you’re talking about 3 more years.

Yeah the ugly antenna lines and 'feels-like-a-bar-of-soap-in-your-hands' are some things that completely killed the design of the phone.

I'm not gonna update it past iOS 10 so I will not experience slowdown. Don't use many apps so if I lose support it's no worry. I've been using a 3G for the past few months without issue.

Don't worry about the naysayers. I am on a Launch year-December 6s 64gb with one battery change and the phone is amazing for my usage. I am a bad photographer,so that is outsourced to the wife's 8+and for whatever I need, the 6S works fine.
Now that I read that the 7 battery works inside the 6S, the next replacement will be with the 7's battery.
I too plan to use it for another 2 years, after which it will be passed on to my daughter, who will use it till it dies/becomes redundant ( for calling).
I am on iOs 12.2 and update os's as soon as available.

IOS 12 actually improves performance. It brought my 6S Plus new life, although admittedly I haven't searched for any downsides either, so I'm biased.

i havent seen any difference between ios version through 6s+ in the history. in my opinion it works the same - never seen that the new ios improved something. maybe it did, but oim not seeing it irl to be so much better that i could relize it..

always upgraded when the new ios has come. 6s+ still works like it was when it was new, so i have no need to replace it and keeping it as long as the hideous notch disappears or my phone breaks.

Hooray for the 6S! It still works suspiciously well for such an old phone while being light and compact.

Apprx 2 years ago I was getting ready to replace it as it was occasionally crashing and draining battery in an uneven an odd way. Then Apple released the controversial update that “lowered performance”, though in effect it breathed new life in the phone as the issues stopped. One media circus later and I was also able to get a brand new battery replacement for $30.

Now I have no desire to upgrade anymore and Apple’s profits are down. Phone does all the phone stuff its supposed to do and any new apps I install (mostly coming from service industries, no games) work just fine!

My 6s is just over 2 years old and it's running on IOS 12.2 just fine. I am retired and have a lot of access to wi-fi and can charge it frequently. I'm perfectly happy with it's looks and performance. I will probably be sticking with it for at least another year.

I had a 6s plus up until November. IOS 12 performed better than IOS 10/11. If you don't update you are missing out.

iOS 11 was bad, but iOS 12 feels great on my 6S. I did have the battery replaced, so there’s that. Imo updating to iOS 12 is quite safe for the 6S.
