iOS 11 was bad, but iOS 12 feels great on my 6S. I did have the battery replaced, so there’s that. Imo updating to iOS 12 is quite safe for the 6S.
I might give it a try, but I think I'll leave it on iOS 12 for the rest of its life if I do update it. I can't imagine iOS 13 or above will run as smooth on the 6S.

How many hours battery life do iPhone 6s users get on iOS 12 compared to iOS 10/9?

Yeah, a part of me actually wanted Apple to discontinue the 6S on iOS 13. iOS 12 ran great on the 6S, so might as well leave it on a good note. With rumors surrounding iOS 13 bringing quite a bit of new features, I fear it may not be too kind to the 6S.

The battery graphs don’t show real screen on time.

Show me proof of your screen time figures. It’s impossible for a 6s to get 5 hrs SOT.

You can get 5 hrs screen on usage as per the battery graphs though. That’s easy.

5h 9m SOT with 14% battery left...
That's an iphone 6s with 7 battery running iOS 12.2

Good phone, but the ugliest one in terms of design.

Yes, yes, "derp why does it matter when you're just going to use a case, derp" but that still doesn't exempt the 6S from being an ugly phone.
Have you seen the camera boil on the back of the iPhones since the 6s?

I have a 6s+ by default and I've never cared for the design, but that fugly boil on the back has gotten bigger and uglier with every version since. Comparatively then, the 6s+ is a much better aesthetic design because the damn camera boil is considerably smaller.

You need to enable Screen Time. This is real screen time.

I don’t think your 6s with any battery at 100% with get more than 2.5/3.5 hrs max. View attachment 833602
Well it’s getting a bit OT. But can u back this up? I couldn’t find information on difference between screen time and screen on.
My screen time numbers are quite similar for this day 5h 3m. But as screen time shows last weekday and battery info last 24h it’s no wonder...

Nice choice, I still use one as well as a 7 and can't see much difference in real world use between the two.

6s as a whole overall model had many bugs? Seems like it's actually seen as one of the better and even popular models.

I had battery issues with it where it would last less than my 6 even though it wasn't used as much.

Using an iPhone X, it’s hard to believe how I used the 6S. Although at the time it was a true joy. I still think it’s amazing in and of itself, but I’m glad to be on my X lol.

Got the 6S in today. It is running iOS 10.1.1, (I set the iOS 9 wallpaper) not sure if I will update it. So far it's been running great. Battery is original, I may get it replaced. So far only lost 30%, it came with 80% charge left in it. I've been on on it for about 2 and a half hours downloading apps and watching YouTube, so the drain isn't too bad. It is an early run 6S, so I'll consider a new battery down the road if it tanks. Like I said, I cam from a 3G so the battery life is better even on a degraded 6S.

Does anyone know how I can stop the update notifications? I can delete the downloaded update no problem, but can't get rid of the 1 next to Settings.

Other impressions coming from someone whose newest iPhone is a 5S:
The screen is definitely larger, but still fairly easy to use one-handed. I would not want anything bigger.
3D touch is a cool feature, but not sure how much I'll use it.
Speakers are a little better, but not by much
Touch ID 2 is blazing fast, there is no wait whatsoever
I like the Rose Gold color so far, but will put a case on at some point soon.
Runs very smooth on iOS 10
Cameras are excellent

I was using a micro SIM card in a mini SIM adapter with my 3G. (Might not be micro, what ever card the 4S used) I went to put the SIM in the 6S and realized it was the wrong size. I'm gonna get a new SIM tomorrow since I don't feel like messing with it right now. Perhaps the 5S SIM would fit.

It's an iPhone 7 battery though. What about his brightness? Apps? You cannot make such a bold and sweeping statement about someone else's phone.

But apparently he can and does quite frequently :) I've never seen someone so preoccupied with someone else's battery life than that guy. He's wrong anyway. I was getting about 4-5 hours out of my 6s before retiring it last month. I also get more than 6 hours out of my new X but he'd probably tell me that's not possible because of planned obsolescence. ;)

I think he may he been behind the whole Oblivion CD iMac thing too, but that's another story... I am at 3 hours of screen on time already and only at 51%.

Yes the 5s nano sim card is the right one.

Some micro SIMs have the same chip on it. So you can just grind off a bit of the plastic boarder. You can google instructions about that. Did it once.

To prevent the upgrade notification the only way is to install a tvOS profile.
It sounds strange but afaik it doesn’t harm anything else.

I found a download for a tvOS 11 beta profile. Will this work on iOS 10.1.1?
[doublepost=1556164741][/doublepost]Never mind the last post, I installed the tvOS block profile from BetaProfiles and it worked fine. Thanks

I believe that was the one back in the days working for me.
But u can always delete the profile and test a different one.
Keep in mind that the profiles do not work forever. Probably till the next release.
Os update reminder is really the most annoying piece of software what apple programmed

So far the battery life while screen is on has been pretty good. Definitely better than my 3G and the last year of my 5S use. So yes, I can confirm it is possible to get 5 hours of screen time on a 6S

Then why do I only get 6 hrs of on screen time with my X? It has 100% battery.

Didn’t X get 8-9+ hrs web browsing on iOS 11? Doesn’t XS get 7-8+ hrs of Safari on Wifi on 50% brightness?

I have not analyzed battery performance for iOS devices. Where are you getting this battery health info from? It varies depended on brightness.

Battery health can lie sometimes too. My 5S still reports 83% battery but dies in an hour.
