Looking at their images online and watching the video, the PCBs that are shown on the cases are modern PCBs that are clearly done via schematic capture software and built with modern processes.

It is possible that they used PCB images for the videos and pictures and don't represent the real thing. Another possibility is that, if you read carefully, they say it contains a fragment of an Apple I. They never claim that the PCB shown is the Apple I. They could just include a tiny fragment, or even a bit of dust scraped from the edge of a PCB, and still be legit.

Off-topic story : Back in the early 80's I was delivering computer parts for a store I worked at. Went to one company and on the way out they had a machine sitting in the corner I had never seen before. I asked the guy what it was and he told me it was an Apple I, and that they wanted to sell it, $200. Being a broke high-school student, I didn't have $200 so I passed it up.... what an idiot. Even worse, I bet it was just trashed.

I mentioned something similar earlier in the thread. They say it contains a fragment of an Apple I. I don’t think they said it was a piece of the PCB. People just assume that slab on the back that vaguely looks like circuit board is the fragment.

It’s entirely possible that they got one or two of the socketed 7400-series ICs from an Apple I (say someone has a running Apple I and a chip burned out and was replaced), and they’ve sliced that up to put in the case. Suddenly it’s not destroying a $100k+ artifact in order to make their stupid cases, but instead perhaps paying someone a couple thousand (if that) for a burnt out 40+ year chip.

Most of the people stupid enough to buy this phone wouldn’t recognize the chip or the circuit board, they just want to be able to tell everyone they own something exotic.
