Have you even seen an Apple | computer?
Unfortunately(?) it seems caviar used google images and used someone’s homemade case as their design inspiration.

Caviar is so into tacky I’m surprised they didn’t somehow incorporate the logo at the time:

Wow -- lots of negativity here. Sure these are extravagant -- but they are kinda cute. If this was simply a TPU case that went on the back of an iPhone and cost $20 it would be a fun gag Christmas gift for an Apple enthusiast.

What I do NOT understand is that the article says that they have an iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max variant with "options available for storage". Try to imagine for a minute the person who would say "I definitely want one, but I am going to go with the $9990 base model so I don't waste money on extra storage that I am probably not going to use". C'mon, every one of these should have the maximum 512GB of storage at that price point.
Rich people want choices too.

A fool and his money. Whoever buys this tacky crap deserves their money taken away.
You do realize that there are people on earth who are so wealthy that they leave a $10,000 tip every time they throw a party for their friends, which is probably every other week?

So that guy who has accumulated so much wealth is a fool, and You, who needs to be penny pinching and saving $1,000 is the smart guy?

I can spend my very considerable cash however like. You sound jealous. Also I have a medical degree which I occasional use whenever I get the itch to do something different from my idyllic lifestyle.
Wow. And this is why I am glad that the cultural values instilled in me by my parents made me reject ostentatious purchases.

I enjoy material goods, but derive pleasure from a combination of form, function and value, seeing the latter as an important characteristic in harmonious existence, both with others and with the environment.

Did you even read the original post? Obviously they didn’t instil resourcefulness, analysis nor open mindedness.

Au contraire - I read and passed what you had written and came to the conclusion that my values differ significantly from yours and gave a cogent argument for why I consider my choices to be correct.

I wish you the best of luck should you decide to purchase.

If you consider a choice to buy something or not can be correct, it merely reflects on you. I would never tell somebody else whether it is right or wrong to make a purchase, especially if they are completely unfamiliar to me off a forum. But that’s just the values I hold myself to and being a generally non judgemental person. If you had read the original comment you would realise I have no intention of buying this particular design.

I keep picturing wealthy Russian - buys ugly $10,000 phone. Puts in pocket of $200 ugly track suit. And somehow this feels completely appropriate and not out of the ordinary in that context.

No Russian with some money would be buying this cheap phone, that is for US fanatics. For the real Russian in his ($8000) tracksuit are other offerings from caviar.
At $122000 its still in the budget range for the nice blonde on the sun deck up front, not the one on the right, the one next to her.........

My guess is nobody's gonna buy one and they know this (so they don't need to chop up an Apple I). Rather, they're banking on this encouraging people to buy their other stuff.
That’s probably accurate. And there would be no way to test the authenticity of the part anyway.

So being born into blood oil money or
other kind of wealth means being very smart? That is incredible.

There are people who lived and died in a modest home in the middle of nowhere with their families and were smarter than any instagram rich kid showing off his gold painted Ferrari could ever dream of. No offense mate, but that just doesn’t stick. Having wealth means they are wealthy. That’s it.

There are serveral self made millionaires and billionaires in the world who buy super expensive stuff.
Even if they were born rich, if they were fools, they would not be able to maintain the wealth or increase it. And most of the times, these rich kids grow up and start other businesses that make even more money.

All I am saying is, they are not fools just because they find $10,000 disposable. It’s quite the opposite. They most likely are smart enough to either create, or maintain such a huge wealth.

The person who is guaranteed to be a fool is the guy who thinks people who are more successful than him as fools, just because his annual salary is disposable wealth for them.

I think it looks kind of cool, I would pay 10 bucks for it, but only if no Apple I were harmed during it's making.

Seriously, why would they not simply design a blank slate with "I spent a ton of disposable income on this" engraved in gold letters? Does anyone really need any design at all if the only goal is to signal to others how much extra money you have?

Seriously if you buy one of these you genuinely have more money than sense. It looks awful.

Sometimes poor people don’t have the refined aesthetic senses of the upper crust. The sort of person that can’t appreciate something like this puts ketchup on well done steak. Nonetheless to each their own.
