I think it looks best aesthetically with the aluminum design (it matched my MBP!), however, I prefer the 3G S because of the features. What I really want it a 3G S with an aluminum enclosure!

+1

I owned the 1st gen from Day 1 up until the 3GS launch day. I miss the aluminum. It looked so chic, so next-gen if you will.

The 3G/S' use of plastic is understandable, but I'm considering getting an aluminum housing once those 3rd party companies come out with it. Just nervous about taking apart my new baby.

But I still miss my old dinged up aluminum beaut. :sigh:

its just my honest opinion.. 2G and 3G/S are about the same size not sure about the 32gb version.. but you will notice the 3G/S have a more of a rounded edges giving it more of a slim "look".. i still have my 2G and honestly i love the look of the 3G/S more.

I do like metal, but the new (new to me, anyway) design looks great too. Also, it's more comfortable to hold.

I agree, the my original 2G looks better, and is easier to hold, slips less in your hand. But I do like the better WiFi reception of my 3GS

I like the original better.

Right now the poll is at 48% original (red bar / republican) and 52% 3G/S (blue bar / democrat). If you make the analogy to the two Bush elections, the original has won! LOL

A few weeks ago, I would've said the original iPhone design. But I'm starting to like the 3G/3GS design a lot more. I do like the aluminum though. Next year's model, I'd like to see a full aluminum body with a glowing Apple logo on the back. It would also be cool if they could make the aluminum come in black and white like the current 3G/3G S.

If reception is an issue, they could make the black aluminum have white plastic/rubber at the bottom, and the white aluminum could have the black at the bottom like the original.

It would be cool if someone could Photoshop one of these. Or both. 😀

Yes Yes Yes

Something about the metallic back of the original iPhone makes it feel much better in my hand.

Had both original and 3G and 3G by far is the better phone, imo

More space and quicker internet. Things I need very badly

I think TuffLuffJimmy needs to calm down a bit... 🙄

Anyways, I like the original better. I'm sticking with a thread I made a long time ago. A curved back like the 3G/3G S, but out of aluminum. Don't forget the black part at the bottom!

This thread is about the looks. No **** a newer version is going to be better than the last. 🙄

Hardcore. Without the curse word, I couldn't tell if you were really serious or not. Add in a few more **** and I know you mean business.

The high school crowd here ****ing rocks!

I think that the bottom of the 3G is really ugly! Like were the speaker and the power port is.

3G all day baby! Lol😛

I like the look and feel of the 3G/3GS and will never go back to the original iPhone; of course unless AT&T finds out about my FREE tethering and MMS. They would have to pry my 3G/3GS from my cold, dead hands....😛😛😛

Sorry I've never thought of "No s**t" as a swear word. It's part of the vernacular of my family. It's never really been censored in my life...

My 2G does feel very well built. The 3G S while I love the new speed and features is just kind of ehh when it comes to the build. The extra width gives this horrid extra black on the sides of the screen and the silence switch is kind of loose when in the silent mode compared to my 2G which after 2 years is still just as tight and together as when I got it. Also the 3G S SIM tray doesn't sit flush with the top.

I do like the smooth curve of the back on the 3G & 3G S as far as the geometrics of it go.

When I first got my 3G, I preferred the look and feel of the original iPhone better. Since then, I've grown to like the 3G design more. Yeah, it's not metal and doesn't feel quite as solid as the original, but the slimmer look makes up for that IMO.
