AppleInsider reports that Apple has seeded a new version of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to developers. The documentation for the new version, termed Build 10A335, reportedly does not carry notice of any significant changes since the last developer seed (Build 10A314) at the beginning of the month, although several known bugs are mentioned.
The Cupertino-based company reportedly made no mention of any significant changes in Thursday's beta but continued encouraging developers to start working on and testing any 64-bit kernel extensions that their third-party products will require under Snow Leopard.

Apple did list a handful of bugs affecting build 10A335, people familiar with the matter say. Among them were crashes in QuickTime X player, application crashes under Rosetta, problems with Migration Assistant and odd errors being spit out by the new version of Disk Utility.
There are no reports of visible changes since the previous developer build at this early stage, but thorough explorations of the new build are no doubt currently underway.

Snow Leopard is a lame name. They should have come up with a new cat name like they always used to. There are plenty they could have chosen from. I liked having a new cat each time. This is just a variation on an old cat. I want a new cat.

Or we can just call it OS X.7 -_^

That's because this is just a variation on an old OS. Snow Leopard is mainly a stability update to Leopard.

Oddly, this build process seems to be going more smoothly than 10.5.7 🙄

Wow, you mean, Juno is on a separate development track than a new operating system? I can't believe it. Unless you work for Apple and understand the reasons why Juno has taken so long to be released, your post is just ignorant of the facts.

Oh yeah, 🙄🙄

Just like how Snow Leopard is going to be a variation (read: optimization) of Leopard? Seems like SL was a great name to pick, considering that is exactly what they're doing. 🙄

I miss the days when people on this site knew what they were talking about.

The name was chosen because its supposed to help show its not a new feature packed new OS, its an overhaul of leopard.

I like Snow Leopard, it's refreshing yet familiar.

Plus I love the snow 😀

No, sorry. I want a new cat.

We had Cheetah/Puma/Jaguar/Panther/Tiger and Leopard.

What about Lion and Cougar? Where the hell are they??? Let's exhaust all distinct cat names before we get off on tangents like Snow Leopard, Spotted Leopard and Clouded Leopard.

I want my OS X Lion and Cougar. Also want my Lynx, Wildcat and Bobcat. Then we will get to the tangential Leopards.

I keep thinking this comes out in June, but I remember some article saying September. Uhg.

Why does that article hold any merit? The target right now is "about a year" from last years WWDC, with no official word otherwise. Unless we hear something from apple themselves there is nothing worth swaying that statement.

I remember hearing the same thing happened with another OS of theirs (before I was aware of the mac world), where some stupid article said it was delayed until _______ so everyone was bitching, when in reality it was slated for that month all along.

And oddly enough I miss the days when people had common courtesy...
