Let's not forget that Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 is the first update since iCloud functionality. It fixes a lot of bugs, and Software update does now use the Combo update instead of the Delta update, so no more Update problems (for the most part).

Hi community manager! How is it to work for Apple's PR ?

Being registered since 2003 and saying all these ******** makes it so obvious.

But for your daily report, here is what you can write: It's not about bugs, I can forgive some of them, it's not about price, I've always been ready to pay more when it's justified, it's clearly about Quality, Innovation and Functionnalities. What you say about Lion is a joke, it has the least innovation, it's all bugged, looks uglier, and is less and less open or customizable as stated in other comments.

Apple is the typical brand that started alternative with better quality, constant innovation and more functionnalities but now that it has gone mainstream and Steve Jobs is gone, Apple is just a big juicy profitable fruit for greedy pig investors who always are the one ruining things.

I wish I worked for Apple's Public Relations!

I wish I worked for Apple's Public Relations! I'd have a little more money. Anyhow, I didn't notice that I have been registered since 2003! I only just started blogging. I'm only a "member" not a "regular" or higher. You, Augure have 133 posts, a "regular", more than twice what I have! :)

Anyhow, I don't know how Lion has the least innovation, when it has more added features than any other major update, plus the iCloud functionality. That's quite a feature in of itself. Apple finally did get that one better, MobileMe was almost a joke, It did sync things but I didn't use it that much. I think Steve Jobs said that about MobileMe too?

Of course more features, more bugs, I figure around Mac OS X 10.7.5 or 10.7.6, it'll be pretty good.

Tell me this. You've allegedly had 20 years experience with Windows, up to and including .NET development. Apparently you had a bad time with it. That happens. But the question is...

Why isn't your experience universal?

Do not underestimate the power of the Windows Kool Aid. My foray into a career in computers began with Windows at my engineering university to my first job after graduation with a Fortune 100 employer where they lived and breathed Microsoft. The Help Desk worked their butt off at that company continually fixing end user PC's, virus removal, Outlook issues, network printer issues, file sharing issues etc. It was ingrained in me early on to accept the poor performance of Windows. It was not until I left my employer to start my business that I switched to Linux and the greener pastures of OSX. Had I never left my company I would still be wandering in Windows misery. :apple:

So what is IT? An entire industry of people lying to themselves, saying "it works. it works" over and over again like it's a mantra? All because they're too stupid and stubborn to go with Apple?

Comeon, man. It's more likely this Fortune 100 company you worked for had a half assed IT department. The fact they're constantly getting viruses strewn about through their network is proof enough of that.

Windows does actually work, but everything has to be maintained perfectly!

Sure, I think there's Misery in Windows and the Malware Industry, but it's true, if the IT department kept up with the proper maintenance of Windows, Windows does actually work! Though it's a bit harder to maintain!

I still wouldn't bother with it, I'd go with Linux (Unix-Like) or Mac OS X (Darwin, actual Unix). The main reason being the Malware industry, second reason, Windows isn't consistent. To me, it seems like a bloated spaghetti code that tries to support everything and anything to a point that something always conflicts with something else eventually.

Yup. All the 10.7.3 updates have changed and the delta updates have been removed. Even the server 10.7.3 updates have changed. The combo 10.7.3 has also changed, probably due to the changes in the distribution (now needs to apply to 10.7.2 as well).

Oddly, the file sizes of the pkg, smd, pkm files have changed (again, possibly to reflect the changes in dist).

But, this means my own private software update server is going to download all of these again. Oh well, at least my ISP runs an akamai farm.

It seems they've again changed the 10.7.3 combo updates for client and server versions yesterday (ie, March 2012) via Software Update. No sure what changes have been made, but I'm guessing it's tweaks to the pre or post install scripts.

EDIT: Build is now 11D50d
