...

That's the silliest thing I have ever read. Yes, you'd be able to use your fingerprint to put in your password. That'd make everything faster. You'd still have a password, though, so it's hardly making it any more secure.

It'd stop keylogging, I guess.

But it's not replacing your password.

Maybe you just haven't been reading what I posted. I said that I consider a fingerprint to be less secure than a strong password. I did not suggest that it would replace a password. I said it could be a convenience and huge time saver.

Sorry about that XD

I mixed up my arguments. I'm arguing against the fingerprint stuff here, on Google Plus, some on Facebook, and a lot on here.

But, yeah, convenience.

Ignore my stupidity.

I would like to see Siri show up, as well as more control for businesses. In addition, I would like to see performance and speed improvements- especially in the memory management area.

Full ARM, UltraSpark, PowerPC, x86 support.
Less iCrap. Less iOS X. More OS X.
Not 10.9, 11.0.0
"Your mac is not compatible because it is 4x times faster than a 2012 MBA, and we want you to buy more new macs" game ended.

Powerpc support lol!

Anyone thought about the XI (Roman numerals) reference in the WWDC announcement in relation to OSX? They wouldn't skip 10.9 completely and move on to OS XI? lol.. it must be a dreamy Sunday here in Oz.. :D

I'd like to see Apple fix the random ejecting of external hard drives with 10.9. I also like to see the shut down time improved.

As for features... Siri would be a nice addition. I'd also like to see screen sharing built into facetime on the Mac as well. iCloud needs to be more like dropbox and google's drive in terms of allowing different file types.

I got it early :p

I seriously hope that Apple will present it like they did with Snow Leopard:

snow-leopard-0-new-features.jpg

Take Mountain Lion, and instead of adding new features on top, refine EVERYTHING to make it fast, efficient and great to use.

There are so many things in Mountain Lion that isn't good enough. So I really hope they will make an update like SL.

Would be really really great with a rock solid OS. I loved the solid feeling of SL, but that disappeared with Lion. A little better with ML, but we still need that EXTRA "premium" feel.

I hope you know that you can write to Apple about what you would like to wish you the upcoming OS X?

Here you have the link anyway in case anyone would like to write to them.

I was just reading some rumors about OS X 10.9, which some folks believe will be named "Lynx".

Not liking the sound of lynx, you cant go to lion, and mountain lion, the top of the chain, and then jump down to a lynx in my opinion. Reading online I love the sound of it being OS X 10.9 Sabertooth or Cloud Leopard (suiting), For me Sabertooth seals the deal

100% agreed. I'm still running Lion on my MBA because I'm afraid of Mt Lion performance hit that's so-often rumored, but the poor performance and design of iCal and Contacts is the stuff that legends are made of.

You'd think because Apple has complete control over these programs - and they are default standard for every Mac user - they would make them a shining example of what can be done. But sadly this is not true :(

I remember Lion was way slower than Snow leopard and upgrading to Mountain lion fixed that actually! Mountain lion is definitely better all round than lion.

I don't know if naming your software after extinct animals is good marketing, no matter how cool said animal is :p

The thing is, that is almost exactly what they did in ML on top of Lion. That's why it is ML and not a different cat.

Original OS > Refinements
Leopard > Snow Leopard
Lion > Mountain Lion
10.9 > 10.10

Based on their OS X track records with the last 4 OS releases, what Apple is doing is putting all of the new features in the original OS for the first year and refine it in the second year.

So, while they're doing annual software releases, they're actually coding as if they're taking 2 years to release a good OS.

So the first question I have is based on the rumors that they've pulled engineers from OS X onto iOS 7, is 10.9 going to be a rushed smaller feature-based OS with no refinements that requires the 10.10 follow-up next year with refinements? Or are they going to break their habits and release a refined ML?

Is anyone else hoping there won't be a flat UI in OS 10.9 to match the rumoured iOS 7? I think this will completely ruin the feel of the Mac and make it look like a copy of Windows 8
