If I was buying a new Mac, the last thing I would want is a launch MacOS. They're every bit as buggy and nasty as Windows before it gets a few service packs.

My very first Mac was a MacBook purchased on Leopard's release date. I had zero problems.

Cry more, noob.

After 23rd

I still think they are not going to release until after the 23rd, if you look at the sign for Lion it starts on the 23rd before that date would make it cancer.

iWork

Good.

Now, can they throw in a new iWork with that Lion release? Please?

Apple took '09 out of the title so we would forget how old the software really is. With ?Apple's long history of starting a product then ending it after many people starting using it seemed to be what was happening. First no new iWork '11, then the name change, with the next step no iWork.

Then Apple put iWork on the iPad, then the iPhone & iPod Touch. This sounds good for iWoek, but still no new iWork for the Mac. No wonder the many Mac Users worry about a continuation of the Mac.

Pages & Numbers need a couple more upgrades & updates before they are really ready. Numbers may not be ready for anything other than entry level spreadsheets even after 2 or 3 upgrades/updates. Pages being a little older is farther along on its journey. I know that my wife likes Pages to make her occasion cards with. KeyNote is still the "Key" program as Steve Jobs uses it to give his addresses. Plus it is the Grand Daddy of iWork.

Honestly I don't believe any of these rumours anymore :p.. I'm hoping it's released soon but I'm not going follow these dates anymore..

Just hope this is the right time... I'm more than fed up waiting!
And the real strange thing (and that's the goal Apple reached), I really do want to BUY it! Indeed! I won't be glad with a cracked version... I really crave the original one! A brand new-lecit-shining original copy of Lion... It's simply... ODD.....

Let's see, we have rumors calling for a Tues release, a Wed release, and a late in the week release (Thurs, Fri). It feels like I'm a craps table in Vegas. Can't wait for Apple to roll the dice to see what it really lands on.

Pffft. This is nothing. Apple already said it would be released in July. If you want to get frustrated waiting on something then head over to the DirecTiVo thread at DBStalk.com. We've been waiting years for this vaporware to hit the street.

You are all wrong MacRumors is a 'name' and therefore it is not bound by the same rules of spelling. It is not Mac Rumors or Mac Rumours - it is 'MacRumors' and whether you be US or UK english speaking it should be spelt as 'MacRumors'.
Yes. But in your forum signature you say "MacRumor:User". What is MacRumor? I know this forum is called MacRumours. This forum has the s in the name. Without the s it's not this forum. It's a different name.

Regarding the MacRumors vs MacRumours discussion,

point your browser to http://macrumours.co.uk and see what happens.
So they bought out the other URL and just have a re-direct to this URL. Nothing special. A lot of people/companies do this.

Is that ODD or OCD? ;)

Don't know why they have to release Lion and new hardware together as well... Wouldn't it generate more publicity if they release it separately? I mean, everyone that bought a Mac since WWDC will get a free Lion upgrade anyways...

Excellent, we both agree "eager" is the correct word.

Neither word is incorrect. You are confusing your personal preference with a "rule."

If anxious can be used in that particular sense, the writer is not wrong. Even if the dictionary were to disagree, the writer would still not be wrong if the majority of educated readers understood his meaning. The meanings of words change constantly -- language is meant to be understood. Its purpose is communication. Hence, silly nitpicking is silly.

Ask the dictionary why "smart phone" is supposedly two words, "Web" is capitalized and "on-line" takes a hyphen, when no one actually uses them that way.

I hope this is true, would like to finally buy my first Mac.
Im beginning to think theyre just rolling dice with dates on it.

I couldn't agree more.

I used to rely on this site for real info. I understand the name of the site is RUMORS, but that doesn't change the fact that it used to be reliable information. Now it's not....

Years ago, I loved this site. This is just like a big "tease" now. I'd much rather only see a new article once a week if I knew it was RELIABLE. Oh well, people love this crap.

I respect the site MacRumors but this is just lame.

You have reporting the same non-sense for the past 2-3 weeks and it doesn't even make sense.

Reporting each and every rumour that's farted around by anyone is this world? This site has changed drastically.

Exactly my avatar tag is 'a name' therefore it's not right or wrong. As a name it just is what it is....

That's a week too early - I don't get paid till the 27th! Will my GM release from the dev programme continue to work for a week?

You get OS X Lion free with the dev program anyway. How could you not know this?
