I can't wait to install Mountain Lion on my bondi blue G3 iMac!! I hope I can find the round mouse.... my cuz borried it to hold down something on the tactor. Yipppee!!!

Good luck with that, espically since that computer is unsupported... :p

I have a question. I have a new iMac coming tomorrow. Obviously getting the waiver to upgrade to ML for free. Will that allow me to download ML on all my computers I own like they allowed with Lion?

Technically yes, but legally - no. OS X "licensed" to your appleID - an email, not a specific machine (Up-To-Date program excluded - they require Serial Number

I would think so. The license is connected with your Apple ID. So if you log in with the same Apple ID on two computers, it will update both.

Also, a tip if things work like last time with Lion, after the app store has downloaded ML, and before you install it. Copy the ML instal file to a safe place. Then you can use this file in the future to upgrade or install ML on future Macs. Then you don't have to download it again for each Mac.

I hope so mate, Im in the same boat wondering the same thing. Fingers crossed. I don't mind paying the upgrade cost, but then again if I can get away with it on my iMac as I qualify for the free download from my new MBA then Ive saved myself some cash for more apps :).

Ok, this is a very stupid question but how do you copy it before it instals ??.

Do you guys know if I'd be able to purchase ML on my mother's account for my Air? I only have $10 on my account but my mom has more than enough that she's never gonna use. Would I be able to use her account to purchase ML and install with no problem?

Sorry for this newbie question but what about my installed softwares on Lion....do they work perfectly fine on Mountain Lion or do I need to install them again? I am also worried that some of them may not be compatible with the MLion. Please help.

I'm happy with Lion atm, so I'll probably wait until 10.8.2 comes out like I did with Lion.

I did the same thing. I waited till 10.7.2 came out before I download and install Lion.
As everybody tomorrow will be freaking out how it's downloading incredibly slow and not running right, I'll be on the fourms laughing at you guys saying told you so. there's no reason to upgrade. Rather wait a month or two. Its not worth waiting 8 hours to download & install

Your apps will not be touched if you do an upgraded. Weather or not they will work is totally unknown. Some will work, some will not. If your apps aren’t you will need to upgrade them.

There are no "newbie" questions. Questions are questions.
Yes, They'll be the same when you install Mountain Lion over Lion. Your data won't be touched with any OS install. Although I suggest to make a backup for the case that something goes wrong.

If they'll work "perfectly", I can't say. But maybe this page could: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

After the App Store has downloaded the file, you will see it somewhere on your drive. Unfortunately I don't remember the location. But probably the root directory. You can search for it. The Lion file was called "Install Mac OS X Lion", and was about 4GB in size. If you can't find it, I'm sure you can ask someone in this forum about the exact location. And it's important that you copy it BEFORE you upgrade, because after the upgrade, the file is auto deleted.

You can the use this file to make clean installs. Just boot up from another partition or drive, and run the install file. Works better than the old DVDs.

Eh, some people think that the features in Mountain Lion are more valuable than others.
