Upgrade

Hi,
Sorry if this has been ask before, but is it possible to upgrade build 10A421a to 10A432 ?
or if not can it be tricked to upgrade?

I think Apple is pulling a "Classic" with this one. Older, archaic codecs that need to die will remain in QuickTime 7 for now. A couple of Mac OS X releases from now, Apple will stop supporting QuickTime 7.

Just a theory. Discuss.

Perhaps you are correct. I would then question as to the customization level of such a limited although great format/quality codecs package. And what about import capabilities as well as native support for uncompressed video and customization for encoding with these few codecs? Surely I would have more than 1 or 2 quality settings to choose from. Maybe this will tie in to the working theories that QuickTime Player X may not be used as much for these purposes than previous versions of QuickTime and video import/export will be processed in other video apps such as iMovie / FCP etc...?!

owned.

I hope the disc art is the same as above. I don't think the one with the Snow Leopard one on looks bad, but I think it would be against Apple's design 'policy' so-to-speak to just go off on a tangent with their disc design.

How long do you look at the disc? A split second after you take it out of the box and put it in the drive and then for another split second as you're taking it out of the drive?

Man, I thought I was picky, but I guess I just really don't care what the disc art looks like... I hardly ever see it anyways.

His opinion looks quite nice.

Actually I think it's a bit too similar to the Leopard disk, which is a problem for anyone who has multiple disks and likes to be able to distinguish them visually. Minor problem sure, but I wouldn't object at all to the Snow Leopard disk as pictured earlier.

I was just about to post a thought exactly like that! Maybe the Snow Leopard disc looked way to similar to the Leopard disc and didn't want to confuse people. Snow Leopard is not Leopard.... that sort of thing. New art = New OS. People like to recognize changes visually (which is why I'm surprised there's not a new UI).

Hmm... interesting.

Makes me think that the last weekend of September still is the date.

And, I also don't think this version is the GM just yet....

Will you be able to upgrade from 432 to GM if 432 is in fact not the final version?

Also, if I have any problems with hardware acting up, will the genius bar make a fuss of running 10.6 for stuff that might be hardware related (i.e. harddrive crash, the dvd burner dying, the graphics card going)?

Just your opinion.

This is what Apple says: See attachment.

Maybe, maybe not.

Yes.

sorry

Sorry, Im not sure were to ask this. But would it even be worth it for me to upgrade my iMac Intel Core Duo 2.0 Ghz to SL?

Thank You

I ran Leopard 10.5.0 no problems when it first came out.
Same here. 10.5.0 was definitely usable. I wasn't affected by any of the issues people complained about but I was using a 12" Powerbook G4 back then. No idea how it was with Intel hardware.
