OS X Snow Leopard Retail Disc Contains Build 10A432

My Up-to-date box shipped too (I'm in Italy).

One question: I'm afraid that I'll be too busy with pre-college/Visa preparations when my order will arrive, so I'm thinking about downloading 10A432 from torrent. Since it's supposed to be the same version as retail, does this mean I'll receive all software updates as everybody else?

What's the point? By the time you download the torrent you will have received the real thing (if you have pre-ordered that is)

I wouldn't download it unless you're getting it from a trusted source - there is already one idiot on a tracker I follow who is sharing a copy of Snow Leopard Server 10A433 with malware in it. I've reported the link to the moderator - hopefully it'll result in him being banned. People who spread malware are the scum of the earth.

Really? :( But if I manage to get that real one, will it be identical to retail disc?

I'm not talking about Xbench though. And even if it's about video drivers and only effect certain hardware, that's still part of the OS.

YOU were blaming Quartz when the problem lay with the drivers. If you're going to blame something - make damn sure you're pointing at the right thing.

How do you know it is the real one? hence my concern about making sure you're not getting one riddled with malware. As for the retail - it'll be the same thing. The 10A432 from the ADC has a retail EULA, so it'll be the same thing.

If you can benefit from 64bit what is having a laptop got to do with anything? If the laptop is the computer you use and you can benefit from this then your need is no different than someone with a desktop
 
How does Apple verify your copy of Leopard? Do I need proof of purchase to get Snow Leopard for $30?

OOooh, so apple can ship it to me in 15 minutes. I tried downloading it to see how fast Apple could possibly ship it in), and it took me almost 15 minutes. God damn, Apple must co-work with Santa on this :D

I'm in the UK- I received an email this morning to say that it had been shipped (expected time 3 business days).
 
I also got the email to about it being shipped. I presume it will arrive early next week. But I'm crossing my fingers it will be tomorrow :D
 
Mac OSX Snow Leopard 10.6 (B432)

Is it true? I don't recall the source and I'm sorry if I'm stirring up a storm, but it's just a question...
 
I ordered the upgrade Snow Leopard disk on Aug 8th for $9.99 and a retail disk on Aug 24th for $29. The disk I ordered on Aug 24th for $29 has shipped and I'll receive it tomorrow (Oregon). Funny how the upgrade disk for $9.99 that I ordered more than 2 weeks before still hasn't shipped. I guess my daughter will get the upgrade disk now instead of the retail disk.
