Ok, guys. I've installed Yosemite and i must tell you...it is baaad.
I'm going back to Windows XP:mad:

I saw a couple of Tweets earlier that suggested that Yosemite wouldn't be available until noon pacific/4 p.m. eastern. The statements seemed to be based on what was said during the presentation. I didn't watch, so I can't verify.

noon pacific is 3pm eastern, so in about 10 minutes then :D

Of course noon pacific would be 3 pm east. ;)

Still waiting for the new "Photos" App. No word on today's presentation...

They will release it early next year, however I'd have expected at least a demo or anything really.

At the very least, let Aperture users know how many of their needed features are gonna go the way of the dodo.

PS: Yes I know Aperture will get OS X Yosemite support, but that's it.
I plan to live, work and shoot longer than a year still.

At least they are still selling at the same old MAS price, no warnings on the product page on the MAS.
Sweet Jesus, that's asking for bad rep.
Heck, they even tagged it as an App Store Essential. That's bold!

I wonder if it is the same build as the last developer build. I also wonder if Apple has a photos app ready so that iCloud Photo Library photos can be downloaded to a Mac. Does anybody know?

Do send us a postcard, maybe one of a garish coloured landscape that might be used as, say, a default wallpaper... :p

Yeah, this is the biggest issue. iCloud Photo Library as it stands doesn't provide a solid way for you to back up your photos. I can't use it until it does.

Calm down guys.. You are gonna break the Update button. It will release today and I'm betting it's around noon or later.

But I hope they will release the iWork updates right away as well and iLife (or whats left of it any, no more iPhoto) but since they didn't mention anything, I doubt they have a iMovie update ready to go.. Perhaps in 2015?..

Huh? I'm assuming that's a mistake, because most people nowadays are on WiFi.

I don't fancy being a guinea pig so I'm gonna let everyone else update before I give it a try.

don't give up

they are waiting for us to walk away from the computer for lunch... don't give in. or wait, yes everyone go to lunch real quick :D

WiFi is one of the ways you access a broadband connection, much like an ethernet cable.

Broadband connection refers to the cable or DSL that feeds your Wifi access point.

As much as I'd love to do a clean install, I have an irrational fear of missing something in the move, so upgrade for me.

I'll probably wait for the purchase of a new computer before I move stuff over manually.
