Yep, I lost Murray and Jennings to injury and Witten might as well have been injured. Playing Spiller over Colston was a gamble and it cost me. Colston has just been so hot and cold and unfortunately for me it turned out to be a hot week for him and cold week for Spiller. I wouldn't count leaving Robinson on the bench against me. He was questionable all week and when it comes to the playoffs you can't risk starting injured players. :(

But, I'm not going to take anything away from the Meffs. They came to play and rose to the occasion. Fitzgerald and Moss had good days and Brees did his usual thing. Heck, even Crosby, the kicker, put up double digits.

So, I'm a man of my word and with this loss I become the biggest cheerleader the the Meffs have had all season. Can you check with the equipment guy for me. I'll need an XL size skirt.

M-E-F-F-S! Gooooooooooo MEFFS!!!!! :p

Question: how can a fellow MR member get into this league next season?

This is the third year we've played and I'm sure we will do it again next year. I'm the commissioner, so just watch for the thread to post in the community section and reserve a spot in line. Veterans get first choice to keep their spot in the league, but if anyone drops out then the empty spaces are filled on a first come first serve basis.

Amazing scenes at Meff Park. Amazing scenes!

That's very sporting of you, Mr mscriv. Strictly speaking the tie isn't over – my Seahawks defence still have to play tonight – but with my Meffs enjoying a 25 point lead as it stands I think it's safe to say that the victory is mine.

And what a victory. As swiftaw says it's quite the upset, as my unfancied outfit conspired to pull off an unlikely victory against a side bristling with star players. But don't be too downhearted – Team mscriv have still had a very good season, with some memorable victories along the way.

As a memento of the season – and in particular your final match – I've a matchworn Meffs shirt from the game for you. You can maybe get it put in a frame and display it in your stadium reception or something. I thought you might like Damian Williams' shirt – after all, his real life team are the Tennessee Titans and I know you're a big fan. Also, by remarkable coincidence his Meffs squad number is 25, the exact same number of points I beat you by at the end of Sunday's games.

Look! The thoughtful lad's even signed it for you!

Sorry it's a bit of a mess though, but that's what sometimes happens with matchworn shirts. It's very dirty (rather like my team's tactics, in fact) and full of holes (rather like your team's tactics, in fact). But the mud stains serve as a further reminder of the match. See, that's the exact same Meff Park dirt your boys were knelt in at the final whistle, weeping salt tears as their championship dream evaporated into the drizzly night air. ;)

Again, very sporting of you. :)

Barry the Kit Man has a Meffette outfit sorted all ready, on that mannequin over there...

It's quite cold now so the girls have switched to sweatshirts, so luckily you're spared the bikini top and hot pants. However, the fans still expect to see a bit of thigh. ;)

Thank you so much for the jersey and the humor. :D

I needed a chuckle to break up the tears I've been shedding all day. :(

Alas, be sure my good friends that I'll be back next year. I've got a lot of work to do making up for what could be the worst season ending collapse the MR league has ever seen.

Semi-Final time, then – and my Meffs are off to a strong start against swiftaw's Tangerine Factor. Could another upset be on the cards?

Well done my friend. The upset train continues to roll on down the tracks. The notion that you could catch fire and take it all seems to actually have a chance of coming true. The championship game is now set with the Amber Meffs taking on Team Moyank24 for the title.

I'll continue in my honor bound duty of being your biggest cheerleader.

M... E... F... F... S... Gooooooo MEFFS! :D

I'm gutted you aren't rooting for Team Moyank. :(

And I look forward to facing the Meffs again...If I lose, I wouldn't choose anyone else to lose to.

What a crazy championship...the guy who calls soccer football and the chick.
As far as I'm concerned, we're both winners. :D

I have to be a man of my word. I told him that if he put me out of the playoffs that I would be his #1 cheerleader. The truth is, the only person "gutted" here is my team who spilled their guts the last 5 games of the season. :(

In all honesty, I think either one of you will represent our MR Fantasy Football community well as the new champion. :)

Well, jings and – might I add – crivens. My boys have only gone and done it again. Commiserations to swiftaw, whose Tangerine Factor have shown skill and verve all season and were more than worthy number one seeds. But it seems that the top sides can't cope with outright meffery at the moment.

You know, in his post match interview Meffs captain Vern Davis said that – as the rain lashed down, the cold wind howled and the lads needed inspiration – it was the sight of you atop a pyramid of Meffettes, waving your pom poms and flicking your mini skirt from side to side which drove them on to victory. Good job, that man.

What a crazy championship...the guy who calls soccer football...
I've just realised that if I am victorious in the grand final, I'll have completed a unique double. You see, I'm the reigning Champion in the MacRumors Fantasy (Association) Football League, having done the League and Cup double last season. Holding the title in both codes simultaneously would be quite the achievement, leaving me straddling the world of MacRumors Fantasy Football like a... well... a big straddly thing.

I thought I could feel the hand of history resting upon my shoulder, but it turned out that the cold, clammy mitt belonged to Lord Meff, our shadowy team owner demanding victory or I'd be in bother.

...the chick.
Ah, on that note a word of warning. I think Lord Meff took a bit of a shine to you after our match in the regular season. Certainly, he's actually been in a good mood since he realised we'd be playing Team Moyank, and he's talking about how lovely it'll be to see you again...

Stay well clear, for one thing he's not really a member of the aristocracy and – although I've never seen him without his mask – I can't imagine what's under there is pleasant.

The notion that you could catch fire...
That's happened to more than one previous Meffs manager who crossed the owner. As I say Moyank – stay clear.

Right then – the clock is ticking down to the grand final. My running backs need patching up, but matron is hard at work even as I type and hopefully Beanie and Royston should be good to go.

Good luck, Moyank – and mscriv, I hope you have your pom poms on stand by. ;)

We're just a few hours away from kickoff for the final NFL game in our fantasy season. Team Moyank has three players left to play and the Amber Meffs have one. The present score is 89 - 73 in the Meffs favor. This one is going to be close folks.

Looks like Teh Meffs took it in the upset of the century.

Why didn't my team play like this last week.

A heartbreaking defeat.....:(

Brees going for the record was a killer at the end of the game...but what lost it for me was all of the points left on the bench. CJ0K ended up being an absolute disappointment.

I'm happy for Jaffa though...like to see those underdogs win!!

I'm dying to know my consolation prize...Surely there is a Meff cheerleader willing to cheer me up?? ;)

And it was close, Meffs 124 - Moyank 120

I find it fitting that both MR league Championships came down to the final game and a final play. Brees won it for both of the league champions.

Congratulations to Jaffa Cake on your 2011 MR OSX League Fantasy Football Championship! Jaffa truly embodies the never give up spirit as he kept faith in his team and worked hard to make any improvement he could week by week. That perseverance paid off today as he proved the naysayers wrong and claimed the league title. Well done sir! :)

We can commiserate together Moyank as you and I share the pain of a heartbreaking championship loss. I'm sure you were cheering for me in the other MR league, but alas, just like it happened to you in this league that final Brees TD pass cost me the iOS league trophy. :(

Bloody amazing Meffs!

Oh, there have been a few weeks where they've amazed me, I can tell you. :D

But what an upset, and one that'll be long remembered in the MacRumors fantasy sporting annals for sure. The cheers of the Meffs fans at the final whistle were almost drowned out by the gasps of the onlooking neutrals.

It goes without saying, commiserations to Moyank whose team put in a strong performance to take things right down to the wire – a final rebuke to any buffoon who might claim that lasses know nowt about sporting matters. ;)

And cheers too to honorary Meffette mscriv for all his hard work in running not one but two MacRumors leagues this season. Cap doffed, sir.

Right, if you'll all excuse me there's not going to be a better time for me to discuss improved contract terms with Lord Meff. See you next season. :)
