Well, I just saw this at the Moscone Center, so I guess all our predictions were wrong... :apple:

I call fake. There's no way they'd put two super drives in it.

I'm just hopping to get a release date for july of the ipad!

Where are you from? You have neither official sales nor greymarket? Has to be a funny place.
I got myfirst one here a week after US launch. (but was slightly more expensive ;) )

IPhone OS 4.0 launch

I can not say when they will launch iPhone os 4.0 (and the device)
But since apple so far did not ask the developers to submit 4.0 apps for review you can be sure it is more than a week away.
I would guess we see a beta 5 which includes the WWDC surprices, which will also become golden master or so.
After all we all "know" that in beta 4 some things are missing. ;)

If the Mac gets no love at WWDC then we know its on its way out.

R.I.P Macintosh. :(

You guys really need to stop with the negativity. Please pull up the videos of WWDC 2009, the keynote from just LAST YEAR. Watch the videos and take note of how much time they dedicate to the Mac in the keynote. Quite a bit!

The only thing that needs to R.I.P. are all the "Mac is dying" comments.

This doesn't completely answer your question, but Steve Jobs said this week that performance of AT&Ts network for the iphone will be significantly improved by the end of this summer. People are working on it basically.

He said he thinks it will and when asked what if it doesn't he said then it doesn't.

Free MobileMe has got my attention. I really hope they either make it free, cut the price or offer it free + an upgrade at a decent fee. I desperately want MobileMe. But I'm not willing to pay the current price even though it's basically the only thing that does 90% of what I want.

Mercedes Benz makes a very nice range of trucks, vans and buses that makes i understand makes the company a very nice profit and growth, getting strong investment from the company. If you don't need a truck your not going to know about it.

Same will be true of the Mac in years to come it will still get lots of investment make lots of profit but just won't be as public.

+1 I'm waiting for 64 bit versions.

Now it is my guess that Apple is releasing 10.6.4 just after the WWDC presentation. Now just think about it Apple held 10.6.3 back for the iPad launch so 10.6.4 will be just for whatever they announce.

Definitely, I'd love it if garageband could handle more than 4 or 5 tracks without saying the "project cannot be played" every 20 seconds, very frustrating.

Whilst the mac isn't dying out, it's definitely receiving less attention (internally and externally) post iPhone, which is a shame really.

right, and the only "open issue" with with 10.6.4 is ichat related. So maybe they finally changed from AOL to something more suitable like XMPP + Sip;

10.7??

How about getting 10.6 to work right? This has been the lousiest OS for decades. It's not as bad as Windows, but it's such crap for an Apple OS.

What are your issues with 10.6?

the only thing that really sucks is the artificial restriction that macbook owners can only run 32bit OS, even if the hardware would support full 64bit.

10.6 has been great. Am running it on an Early 06 iMac so this whole 32/64-bit divide isn't an issue for me. Aside from that, it lets us 32-bitters use Apples Java 6. 10.5 and prior are stuck with Java 5 for some weird reason.

As for 10.7. Well, if 10.6 doesn't "work" as you claim it, then 10.7 makes sense to me. It's like pulling what Microsoft did with Vista and Win7 :p

 I haven't had any issues with 10.6 on any of my systems. What are the issues you're experiencing?
