You can not prevent dust/crap from slipping into the case.

Putting a screen protector on has no effect on being able to remove the case. I put my own screen protectors directly onto the ipad screen and have no idea what you're talking about with the otterbox becoming conjoined to the screen protector.

The conjoining was something posted about the previous Otterbox Defender and the iPad 2 with I think Zagg shields on. Something I came across on the interwebs and wanted to verify with someone.

I'm glad it is not conjoining. One less thing to worry about in modding this thing.
 
@ People who removed the factory default screen protector and used a separated one:

Did you attach it back to the bezel protector frame or apply it directly onto the new iPad?
