Otterbox Preserver Waterproof case

Til OB answers the question about the home button, my Armor 5 case works just fine on my 5s (flash hole and all). I DON'T want the home key exposed lol. If it is on the Preserver 5s then I'm going to buy the one made for the 5 :cool:

Thanks for the video, it actually gives me an idea of how it would fit the 5s. So at about 2:29 of the video, you can see the oval shape cut out of the flash that makes it enough room for it to work :eek:. At least with my Armor 5 case my 5s camera works fine :cool:

I wonder if it floats? with a name like the preserver it sounds like it would float, but I doubt it. It sure would be nice as thats my biggest concern with all the waterproof case, it doesn't matter how waterproof it is if it is at the bottom of a lake or ocean :p
 
im gonna wait and see if the audio quality of the 5s really works with this new case- I like it but I know that a lot of similar cases have terrible audio quality and I don't want to waste any more money on cases that compromise audio- i hope it works well as this looks like a nice case

Sound quality hasn't been a problem with OB Armor or Defender so hopefully it will be ok.

Preserver 5 case wont suit 5s camera. From OB support.

Thank you for contacting us with your questions! Unfortunately they are not complatible. The iphone 5s will fit but you will not be able to use it to it's full potential. The good news is that the iphone 5s is coming out very soon for the preserver. So just be patitent and then you will get a the exact phone case you have been waiting for!! interesting it has a naked button, doesn't look too bulky.
That naked button i what worries me, especially if I go to the beach and press the button while wet.
 
Looks like a great product; I've been using OtterBox products since my first iPhone and they have had excellent customer service; ever single issue I've ever had with my cases they have ALWAYS taken care of me.

One thing that has been bothering me for some time however is the lack of holster options for the majority of their cases (the commuter series specifically) on release or at all. Once again I am disappointed that they have no plans to offer a holster option for the Preserver Series at this time but will be including a lanyard according to an OtterBox representative I just got off the phone with.

Looks like I'll be waiting for the Lifeproof (yes I know it is now owned by OtterBox) iPhone 5s case and I hope that they release a holster option for their version of the waterproof case.

I like that the back doesn't have a logo cutout, and i like the way the front looks. If the bottom was thinner, and less Armor-esque, and the front was Nuud style with the glass exposed, i'd buy in a heartbeat
 
Otter box answered this on their website... to the question of if it would cover the button.


Yes, the Preserver Series for the iPhone 5S allows full functionality of the Touch ID feature by utilizing a clear membrane that allows full Touch ID functionally without compromising the waterproof integrity of the case.
 
I just got my Lifeproof 5s case. The only thing that concerns me is the membrane covering the home button seems very very thin.

I have modified Otterbox Armor for iPhone 5
and currently works amazing :)

at the site where the button was I glued on the inside
a piece of the thin plastic 100% transparent
at this time I do not need to buy a new one :p

if someone decides to continue with the same idea
please your ensure that the work is well done to not enter the water.

Well, is a bit ugly but I need protection in my work.

Otterbox Preserver Waterproof case

Anyone place an order yet for the 5s version? Looks like the all black model is ready for ordering.
 
Walmart has in their ad that they have the 5S model in stock for $84.88. YMMV

I saw the 5 version in store a few weeks ago.
