I tried it once by using a 43" TV on my desk for 4K gaming.. it was an amazing experience.. but I started getting headaches after a couple of weekends of intense gaming. So I got rid of that screen and use my 2nd 27" Monitor now.
From my perspective, I used to get headaches playing Doom on a 15” CRT, but I figured I was just getting too old (and haven’t gotten any younger in the 30 years since). If you can do intense gaming a whole weekend on one or two 27” screens without a headache, you are doing well!

Whilst you may *think* anything bigger than 55" is better suited for a home theater or large room set-up, have you ever tried it? I sit in a single chair in an alcove in a room where the space is just 8 feet wide with my eyes less than 7 feet from a 65" screen, and the experience is compelling for TV, games and movies.
I sit 2m in front of an 85" screen and it is glorious.

CRTs are essentially 75W Tungsten bulbs. So in that sense LED/LCDs are a blessing for our eyes. As for me, I mostly play single player story mode games for a couple of hours on my 27" LG 4K Monitor now. For the last screen I had (43") it was not really the intensity of games, it was the amount of light that hits your eyes if a big screen is too close. Also I play in HDR Mode.

I have one of each..both 3d.
Sure would be nice if we could play our 58 3d movies in it.
This isn't quite complete list, i guess, but there seems to be 49 "native" ( =shot in 3d) 3d movies and 240 movies that were originally released in 3d.
