This is a horrible development, IMO. Other countries need this! Non-American developers (me, for instance) are struggling to be able to get their hands on an iPad!
Yep, it sucks! This is a horrible development, IMO. Other countries need this! Non-American developers (me, for instance) are struggling to be able to get their hands on an iPad!
Its a shame Mr Jobs does not know how to under promise and over deliver
it's nothing special. It doesn't do anything I cannot do already. I will buy it when it has a front facing camera for skype, granted I can use my macbook pro for this, but at that point, I see some viability in the device.

Hmm,
I'm flying to the UK next week. How many should I put in my hand luggage?
U.S people are so lucky, always 1st to get the new things.
well, that is good news. however how will that affect the release of the 3G versions? it's still on "late April" what ever that means. April 32nd?
Stopping supply? Are you crazy? I have yet to receive mine.So in the meantime, current production will continue to flow into the US!
which will end up on ebay
What a ****ing pile of ****
How about stopping supply to the US for a month!
What *****
I'll buy one when it's a real MBP-killer, not a gadget. But I have to say that Steve is a master in communicating with idiots and selling overpriced crap.it's nothing special. He might have been surprised by the demand of the iPad, but it's not fair to generalize in this way. Jobs certainly does know how to under promise and over deliver, and here's only the most recent example:
Promise: iPad will get 10 hours of battery life.
Delivery: 12 hours or more.
It is an American company, after all.
Hehe, I have to laugh at all the people saying "this sucks/makes no business sense/they should've invested in better manufacturing methods".
Apple, like a lot of manufacturers, are simply employing the legitimate tactic of ramping up demand by limiting supply. You don't make money making zillions of products and selling hundreds, whereas you do if you make hundreds and sell those hundreds quickly. They've always done it that way, and its worked pretty darn good thus far - people have always lusted after a new product from Apple.

Battery is down to the use of the device and not everyone will get 12 hours.
Heh heh. Love hearing foreignors complain how this isn't fair. Hey, English dudes - see what happens when you levy an excessive tax on tea? 240 years later - no iPads for you!

Yes, physics says that's so, but the reviews talked about non-stop video playback for far more than 10 hours, so I think this is a valid example of under promising and over delivering.
